my girl drags me around and i never get to see the damn crafts and the horticulture exhibits

but other than that i had fun yesterday, tried the Luther Vandrosss burger and the ostrich burger for the first time

very impressed with both. The rides seem a little scant

Everything was great, but the catfish sandwich I've been getting for three years now wasn't there

I'd try and get free parking on Beryl Rd. I live nearby and drove by several times today and saw open spots. People park all up by the arboretum too.

i saw and heard about parking at carter finely- how plausible is that? and do they charge? I've heard it's free from some people, and others say it is 10 bucks.

The latter have no idea what they're talking about. Any parking lot that is state property is free to park in. Private property surrounding the fairgrounds charge around $10 to park in their yards.

My husband won one of the "rigged" games and won a giant tiedyed monkey...l tried carrying it around the Fair and it almost knocked me over

Here is what we ate: one ear of corn, one turkey leg, one ribbon fries and one corndog

Still so full.

one turkey leg, one ear of corn, one order of deep fried kool-aid

and a richardson's rootbeer.

it was a good night. great people watching too.

we parked at Carter Finley. It was free, but it was a clusterfuck. Honestly if I had to go again, I'd pay to park in a better lot.

Is the koolaid just flavored funnel cake?

sort of.

it's dough they roll up into a ball, with cherry koolaid mixed up into it. I thought it would just taste like dough, but i'll be damned if it didn't taste exactly like koolaid.

I had half a turkey leg, half an Italian sausage sammich with peppers and onions, a fried oreo from a friend's basket, a fried mac n cheese from a friend's basket, Pappy's old fashioned soda, and fried pecan pie

we parked at Carter Finley and it was fantastic....though I didn't get out there until 8pm

It's in the big building that looks like the Alamo. Corner of Hillsborough/Blue Ridge.

It's this booth.

Does anyone have more information on Military Appreciation Day tomorrow? I looked at the website and all it said was that military members get in free tomorrow. I remember the past couple of years you could get others in for free as well. I haven't been able to find anything on the website stating that was the case this year. Does anyone on TWW know?
