As a PC user who tolerates Apple, it's pretty crazy to hear that Jobs died, almost in disbelief since he was still kinda young and was hoping he'd pull through over his battle with cancer.

I'll probably feel the same about Bill Gates as I do now about Steve Jobs. I'm just kinda sad he didn't get a retirement. I'll assume he went on a lot of awesome vacations while working though.

^^ Here is the way I look at it.

I didn't know him, but I do have a lot of respect for someone who can successfully drive a company and extract the full potential of the people that report to them.

Sure, the products they produce probably weren't his ideas, but being able to motivate and drive people to produce something as nice as the products Apple makes is really a talent.

If you read any of the "History of Steve Jobs" articles, you can't help but respect him and realize that the world as a whole is probably a worse place after his death, if you really want to be black and white about it.

no one is going to care about bill gates when he dies because he's gonna have no money left after he gives it all away. And yes, I'll be the same state of unhappiness when he passes. Just a small amount of sadness with mostly a disregarding feeling since I'm more focusing on killing these fuckers in BF3 atm.

I appreciate the design and technological achievements Jobs and his people have provided us, but some of these people on twitter are just ridiculously upset. Its hard to identify with someone who says they have been crying all morning because of his death

AT&T and/or Verizon should cut off their service with Facebook, twitter and all other social media should permaban their IP/mac addresses while whatever internet provide should just respond with "even 4chan doesn't need you" as they cut off their service as well. I didn't know him (obviously), but I think of all his ideas that have helped so many people.. and no I'm not just talking about those crazy kids with their Macbooks and iPods (like me ) - but if you look at how Apple has been involved with different areas it's pretty amazing. For example, people with vision problems being able to use the iPad (the ability to blow up text on the screen instead of having tons of textbooks and other reading materials reprinted in large print is a major money saver for a family, school, etc).


Not to mention, neuroendocrine tumors are no joke so it's just sad in general.
