I'm interested to see who wins the SS battle. Pastornicky was practically given the job, and while neither have been great in spring, Simmons apparently has shown more offensively and defensively.

Pastornicky's defense has been shit. There is no reason in the world to have a SS that sucks at defense if he is not contributing at the plate. Put Simmons at SS and at least feel good about one part of the IF defense. The Braves are already below average at 3B and 2B.

I'm a little nervous about McCann's future with the team, given that Yadier "pedestrian bat" Molina got a 5-year deal at $15M per year from the Cards. Yadier is alot better than Brian defensively, but the bat is what makes it rain... that said, I hope he is a lifer for the Braves, but it's gonna cost us I think.

With Chipper coming off the books, the Braves will have some money to spend on McCann. My biggest concern with McCann is if he'll continue to play catcher his whole career. Honestly he only plays about 130 games now due to the 5th day of rest and with Freeman looking like he'll hold down 1B for years to come, I wonder if McCann will go to an AL team.

I love McCann, but ultimately I want the Braves to win and we've got two solid catching prospects on the horizon.

Maybe you are right. We havent exactly blown the cover off the ball when we've faced Livan. Over the last 3 seasons, the Braves are 3-5 against him
