I love Olive Garden. The capellini pomodoro is delicious: Roma tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil, extra-virgin olive oil and marinara sauce tossed with capellini. I can usually make two meals off of it.

Also, i don't eat at chinese restaurants that have pictures of the food on the wall.

I've stopped eating at Qdoba because I haven't found a decent one around here, so i go with tijuana flats, chipotle, and moes...

and I'm always underwhelmed by subway - i'm much more a fan of firehouse and jimmy johns.

I think my loathing of K&W has nothing to do with the food. It's the people who go on and on about how great it is, while at the same time trashing places like Golden Corral and hospital cafeterias.

the reason i won't eat at K&W is i just don't like cafeteria style.

^the last 3-4 times i've been to Qdoba, the queso has been significantly cold and lumpy. Like it's been sitting out without being stirred. Also, I'm not a big fan of the 1:1 rice-to-bean ratio. I think it should be more like 2:1 rice to bean, mainly because the beans tend to cause the tortilla to get soggy. Also, their salsa's are sorta bland.

Haven't been to the one on Wake Forest though, so I can't speak for that.

Not that I can think of off the top of my head. The reason for my post was that I got charged for water at a place here in Columbia, so I won't go there again. Though I do seem to recall some Raleigh restaurants charging for water when there was a big drought (2007 or 2008?).

Other than the occasional subway sub I've only had Fast Food twice in the past year and a half. Once was Biscuitville (I had never been there and figured I'd give it a try for breakfast one Saturday) and once was when I was with a group that was running behind schedule and had to grab some food before an offshore fishing trip.

I would just say no to Golden Corral or Applebees. I have eaten Red Lobster a couple times in the last few years when other people wanted to go. It's pretty nasty after eating good seafood, but whatever. TGIFridays, Ruby Tuesdays, etc. falls into about the same category as Red Lobster. I'll eat there if others are going, but I'd never suggest it myself.

I don't mind Olive Garden. I don't think it's some kind of stellar Italian cuisine, but I don't see anything inherently bad about it. It's just that I don't eat out much and when I do I feel I can get better food elsewhere.

K&W's baked spaghetti is the shit. used to get it all the time as a kid at the Carolina East Mall in Greenville (now a parking lot). Only been back once since the mall closed, because the new one is just inconvenient.

I'm a wannabe foodie, but not a food snob.

I'll never flat out refuse to eat at a place, especially if it's a social outing with friends.

I'll always prefer to eat at more unique establishments, and *generally* avoid chains whenever i'm in charge of selecting a restaurant.

That said, I love Bojangles, and a handful of other chains that do shit right.
