I mean, let's look at your claim here. A bunch of white students in an area of the country with high anti-immigrant sentiment and with a history of hating Mexicans spontaneously decided to be "patriotic" at a high school basketball game between two US schools that are only 4 miles apart. They were spontaneously patriotic at an event where patriotism has never been relevant before, on a day that had no patriotic significance to the US. And, in this state with high levels of immigrant hatred, these students just happened to be "patriotic" at a sporting event where the other school was comprised entirely of hispanics. And it was all patriotism.
