RIP

Was not cheap, but was open late before McDonalds was, and before Cookout Even Existed. Damn good fries and Phillys too!

That meatball sub they had with the seasoned fries was a heart attack waiting to happen, but a delicious one at least.

It was Papa Lou's then Greek Fiesta. The guy that owned all the Miami Subs around here dropped the franchises and did other stuff with the restaurants.

The one in Garner on 401 was torn down to make a Biscuitville.

The one on Wake Forest Rd was a Papa Lou's too, its a chicken place now, Mami Nora's

The last one that survived was on New Bern ave but it was renamed "New Bern Subs" with a very similar menu. Not sure if its still open.

I remember Miami Subs--I don't forget mozzarella sticks. But was there really an Arthur Treacher's?

There used to be a Maimi Subs on Glenwood by Casa Carbone, but I think it's been a couple of things since then.

Out of Miami Subs, Papa Lou's, and Greek Fiesta, I'll take Greek Fiesta.

watching that 50+ year old woman at the goat put the moves on another unsuspecting 20-something, and inevitably leaving with him. that old broad has been picking up young dick from that place for at least a decade at this point.

It used to just run into boylan heights before they rebuilt the road and added that curvy part by the prison that goes under the trestle. we studied that construction project in a class.

Yeah that is prime real estate now. Too expensive of a facility to just waste by moving it to make condos and offices.

That Advance Auto Parts has been there a long time considering I've never been there and seen more than 3 people inside.

I'm also surprised that midway through 2014 that the KMart hasn't closed up shop.

Where's the Hillsbro thread.

I remember walking to what used to be KFC (now Snoopys) to get some fried chicken. That was the last walk-in only KFC I've ever seen.

the KFC on Western is closed. used to be a KFC/A&W.

one of my favorite memories happened while waiting at the Dan allen/western stop light. Roflpack and I are sitting there, and a station wagon pulls up beside us. in the passenger seat sat a damn golden retriever in a dress. I don't know why, but in the moment it was absolutely hilarious

i was at cookout one night getting a burger by myself around midnight. some drunk girl backed into my parked car and some tuff guy with 5 other bro's in his car wanted to fight ME because of it. i dunno if he was white knighting or what. he pushed me and i sucked it up and turned the other cheek... the girl ended up giving me 50 bucks to fix my hubcap and i didnt have to go to jail for fighting. win/win?

Nostalgia: The dude that would shadow-box by Cook-out/KFC

Favorite memory: Some drunk dude face-planting in the KFC parking lot after making his way down the hill from Cook-Out and jumping from the retaining wall
