^^that's what I was thinking...most of the time if it's an emergency exit and alarm will sound when it's opened....

But I do know that some theaters have doors that lead straight to the parking lot from the theater so that you don't have to go back through the lobby...maybe this was one of them?

I don't think I've ever been to a theater where the emergency exit in the screening area had an alarm. Most people use them as their quick escape after the movie finishes.

WTF he could have been in there long before anybody else got in. Or did it once the movie started and nobody was paying attention to his ass sitting right next to the door. Then he goes out (maybe had to go take a leak) and gets his shit from his car, including his armor and helmet. What is tough to understand about that?

the movie theater near me, a regal, constantly has people coming in and out of the emergency exit before the movie starts. I commented about it to my mom when we went to see Prometheus, cause I wanted to tell management that there were people getting in for free but then I figured they probably wouldnt care or the employees already know

We used to take my son to movies on the lawn when he was 3 months. He would sleep through anything and only wake up if he was hungry.
If you're lucky enough to have a baby who doesn't scream all the time then you can take them almost anywhere in the first 3 months as long as your ready to handle their needs and gtfo if they start fussing.

Yeah, I see the door propped open around here a lot. People running to their cars during the movie to grab something, and don't want to go back through the front, or whatever.

Big post that I tried to copy over to here says that the shooting was about 30 minutes into the movie during a shooting scene. Supposedly after people were evacuated a bomb went off but that part isn't very clear. The shooter had more explosives in his car and apartment

Outside being inconsiderate for bringing an infant to a movie...

It's not like a 3 month old is going to even see as far as/recognize scary parts of a movie, they'd probably only get scared by loud, sudden noises and some infants don't seem to even care about that.

And a kid that young is going to adhere to their own sleep schedule... it would probably be awake for some of the movie, asleep for the rest, regardless of how loud the movie got.

Austin, I understand that a very young baby can make it through a movie, and isn't going to "watch" the violent stuff. But it is one thing to go watch a band or a movie at a family friendly, open air event in the daytime then it is to bring them to something like this at midnight with a ton of gunfire, explosions and other noises. Plus its just inconsiderate of others IMO. But yea we love taking our kids to the movies on the lawn at Southern Village and I totally feel that events like that are an acceptable event to have a baby. Just not a loud movie in a completely packed theater for an overnight showing like this.

Not sure about other similar reports, but overall theme is that someone received a call during the movie and went out the exit door, propped it open, and sometime after the shooter had changed into gear then came back in for the killing.

Tear gas thrown from two different areas of the theater, but overall reports are saying just one shooter. Hard to say if he had partners.

Shooter was found behind the theater by police, I guess that's when they took him into custody one way or another.

The 3 month old lived and has been released but a 6 year old girl was killed.

I posted earlier about explosives being found but I'm not sure if that stuff is accurate anymore. CNN reporting that no explosives were found in the apartment, but they did find more ammo. Not that finding ammo in a gun owner's place is anything surprising...

^that's what I'm finding interesting, that they somehow got him alive. Usually the shooter kills himself.

I'll argue that they're not bad parents since a 3 month old is indifferent to most things in their environment. We used to only get our son to sleep by driving him in the car and blasting AC/DC. A lot of research has begun to show that some children under 3 months thrive on loud noises and vibrations. It's more like the environment in the womb.

However, while I think they're not bad parents for trying to get a night out they are bad movie goers for subjecting everyone to the possible screams of an infant child even if they are quick to remove the child when it starts.
