she is moving out. there isn't much in her name there as far as furniture or big ticket items are concerned. and this ended about as amicable as it possibly can in these situations, so i have no concerns with her taking something that isn't hers. but just seeing the empty closet, drawers, bathroom will be enough to cause some initial shock.

Perhaps I should have written, I don't understand when people deny their partner something that they want. Not necessarily outlandish things, though. It depends on the person... which basically circles back to a compatibility issue.

It took me 3 months to get out of my last relationship (about a year ago) after I realized I wasn't into it. It wasn't because I had trouble doing it, but because the worst things kept happening.

First she found out she couldn't be with her family for the holidays so she was miserable to begin with, so I decided to wait til after New Years.

Then on the day i was determined to break up with her, she got mugged on her way home. No way I could do it then.

Then I tried again a couple of weeks later, but her best friend called just as I was getting started to say SHE had been dumped, so I lost her attention entirely.

When it finally happened I was so relieved. I hated myself for hurting her but it just wasn't working and nothing we tried was making it any better. Despite me saying for months that I wasn't feeling good about our relationship, in the moment she kept saying how she didn't see it coming and I never gave her a chance to fix the problems.
