Okay so remove my reference to Iron Man. The suit just isn't practical as an offensive or defensive weapon. 8/3/2014 9:00:39 AM |

making a solider able to fly seems pretty awesome ... not sure what you were hoping for ... but the ability to fucking fly, is a pretty large advantage. 8/4/2014 11:07:34 AM |

I can't remember the wing suit too much from when I saw the movie but its not like they were giving them to every army grunt. They were a special forces group specifically trained in using them which would be extremely practical for stealth operations. You wouldn't need a helicopter or high altitude plane to drop them into a location or to pick them up and if they run into trouble or something they would easily be able to escape. 8/4/2014 12:06:19 PM |

My beef isn't with the mobility, it's with the design. Certainly the best our military efforts have to offer, given the technology we have now with the blue cube that we had, and Stark's other inventions, is better than a bird's wing. 8/4/2014 6:19:53 PM |

Another question. Do we know what happened to Jeremy Renner's character throughout this movie? I mean, if SHIELD is going to be taken down, I would expect him to have something to do with it, and for him to have such a big role in the Avengers via SHIELD, I'm surprised he didn't at least get a nod.
Does the show explain his or Coulson's absence? 9/16/2014 8:31:01 AM |

Earth is a supercomputer that, over 4.6 billion years, has bootstrapped itself up from raw physics to genetic algorithms and designed a flight system with which a creature with a brain like a pocket calculator can fly within days of being born. Don't expect us to improve on nature until we've matched it first.

It doesn't explain where Hawkeye is, but HYDRA's takeover figures prominently in the tail end of the first season and makes for some major plot points. The direction of the entire show has changed for the upcoming second season.

apparently there is a deleted scene on the DVD release that had Hawkeye in it. Its is easy for me to just assume he was on assignment somewhere else in the world.
With regards to Coulson, it is mentioned a few times during the course of the show that most of the Avengers still think he is dead. 9/16/2014 3:47:59 PM |

It must be difficult for them to continue these story lines post-Avengers without asking where the other Avengers are during each one.
Bruce Banner is in the post-credits scene of Iron Man 3 but where has he been for all this other stuff? Especially considering how much ass he kicked before. 9/16/2014 6:26:28 PM |
