We hired a young coach coming from a program where he was very successful (albeit for just two years) and brought on Canada, another young guy coming from a sucessful program at Wisconsin and who had spent time with Doeren. Then for some unknown reason we hired Dave Huxtable from Pittsburgh, a team that really wasn't that great on defense.

I guess since he and Doeren had some Wisconsin ties for one season is how he was considered for the job. And looking at his resume, all Huxtable really brought to the table was some NC knowledge from his time at ECU and UNC and some moderate success coaching LBs at GT. Plus he hardly fits this young image that our coaching staff is trying to portray. Dude looks like he sleeps in trash hoppers.

On TWC SportsCh (1520) there is a NC State Football Coaches Show currently scheduled and a Wolfpack Look Back at 930. Anyone have any idea what this is? All I see is a "Check back for future special events" message.

We haven't had a good defense since Reggie herring left and there were 5 or 6 nfl players on that defense. You need talent to be good. No coach is gonna take what we have and make something great

Might not be such a bad thing, just to maintain continuity. But at this point, I don't have faith in any decision this coaching staff makes. So I am going to jump to the conclusion that this is a bad move and DD should be fired so we can bring in Cowher or Saban.

Unless you are national championship caliber there really isn't any reason to play a tough OOC schedule so I don't have a problem there (except for traveling to USF).

That said its insane to have to start with FSU and Clemson back to back. 0-2 ACC record to start off even if we are better.

Shouldn't be a big surprise about who we are playing, that was known months ago. Sucks that we drew FSU/Clemson back to back though. FSU plays Clemson the weekend before they come to Raleigh, lines up for a perfect NC State trap game!

Are ODU and Presby D1-AA schools? WHY WHY WHY WHY play 2 D1-AA schools??? It's not like we were ever going to make a bowl anyways, but having to win 7 instead of 6 games is just stupid scheduling.

I have not missed attending a home NC State game since 2003... I might be breaking my streak this year . Why do people schedule weddings during football season??? That's as dumb as scheduling 2 D1-AA schools in the same year!!! rawr rawr
