not really feeling this season so far. too many "dream" sequences and not enough plot. 6/24/2015 12:25:24 PM |

Not a nightmare, per se, because the dream never grows to a place where the dreamer is physically threatened. But definitely one of those dreams where something is off, where the world has taken a turn for the worse, and everything looks to be at the wrong angle, and the dreamer simply cannot will himself awake. It’s going to have a healthy cult of detractors who will lob insults at it that it may very well deserve, insults like pretentious and slow-paced and poorly plotted. Those who are so inclined will find plot holes by the dozen in every single episode and mercilessly tear it apart on those grounds, ignoring the project’s dream logic ethos." |

Honestly I feel like this show is too smart for the general public. You have to give it 100% of your attention while watching.
(I say that having only watched episode 1 of season 3 thus far. I watched episode 2 but had company over that were constantly distracting me [even though they wanted to watch the show as well] so I'm going to have to re-watch episode 2 and then catch up). 6/25/2015 8:44:43 AM |

i also find this show is enjoyed much better watching in groups of episodes. i'll probably wait another week and watch 2-4 in one sitting. 6/25/2015 8:53:10 AM |

I'm not digging this season as much as the previous seasons, but it's still good. Fuck NBC for already cancelling it. If it gets picked up by a pay-only service, I'm out. I'm not paying for multiple sources of TV. 6/25/2015 10:27:01 AM |

Fuller told Deadline, "The question would be for the potential new distribution partner is how comfortable they are in waiting. Because I do have an obligation to American Gods and a passion for American Gods, so I absolutely want to service that in the way that it needs to be serviced."" |
This doesn't make sense to me. He signed up for American Gods before Hannibal was canceled. So if Hannibal hadn't been canceled on NBC how did Fuller plan to oversee both projects?7/6/2015 9:11:14 AM |

Amazon and Netflix have both passed. With that being the case I've got the feeling there won't be another season of Hannibal and that makes me less interested in sitting through this season and all these dreadful scenes. 7/7/2015 8:47:03 AM |

Just watched the finale in Canada last night. Outstanding finale. I don't think they should make a 3rd season, not with the way this one ends. 8/28/2015 2:05:29 PM |

If they could get the rights to Silence of the Lambs I'd be all in for a movie or something along those lines, but with the way it sounds right now the S3 finale will be it. If so its pretty amazing the show has even gone this far - still hard to believe that some of the stuff over these 3 seasons has been aired on NBC. 8/29/2015 8:19:36 PM |

^^^This WAS the 3rd season. And the finale was done that way because the show was canceled.
^I did. Hannibal lives! 9/1/2015 12:22:50 PM |

Based on an interview I read that Alan Sepinwall did with Bryan Fuller it sounds like the finale would've been that way regardless if the show was cancelled or not.
The original intent of the ending would've been to signify that had Hannibal survived if they'd been picked up for S4 (and the viewers would have to wait to find out about Will), but now with it being cancelled for the time being the ending could be interpreted that they both died & Bedellia simply went insane - or that Hannibal lived as was originally intended.
Either way - awesome finale episode. I'd still love them to get a chance at making Silence of the Lambs though. 9/1/2015 1:37:34 PM |

I still can't fathom why NBC would cancel this show. 9/1/2015 2:32:20 PM |

^^Good to know
This is (was) the only show I watch on NBC. Unfortunately hardly anyone watched this show. It's a difficult show for some people to watch, especially given the short attention span of the average viewer. Plus I don't really feel like NBC gave it a fair shot. They claim they did, but putting season 2 on on Saturday nights is usually a death blow. Sure they put it back on Thursdays for S3, but I feel like by that point nothing could save it. Not even all the fantastic critical reviews.

It's on Netflix. Watch it. We need S4
They couldn't do it because the rights to Silence of the Lambs belonged to MGM. Maybe with Netflix cash they could.
