^Have you read the Malazan books? I was kinda mixed on those. Loved some parts, particularly Tehol Beddict, but man it was a slog. I read the main ten straight through, no other books in-between, and it still took me a full year.

I'd been debating even putting that book on the list, but what the hell. A few years ago I was briefly in touch with an old college drinking buddy of mine. He's married then divorced with kids now and he was getting concerned about his own drinking, so he read the Stop Drinking book by the same author and managed to stop drinking (or at least cut way back, I'm not sure which) which surprised the fuck outta me. He had always pestered me about my smoking and was very insistent that I read this book. That was about 3 years ago, so here I am now finally reading it. Gonna make a serious effort to quit smoking during the week of Thanksgiving; if any of you have any advice/suggestions, I'd love to hear it.

This is all very impressive. How do y'all find the time? I get stuck around 15-20 books a year, which is probably more than the general public but not at the level in this thread.

Do you prioritize reading over other things? I get caught up watching sports or movies or the ultimate time suck video games. Trying to get on that 52 book level

^same here, if that. I go through spells where I'll just read non-stop but then go without reading (books) for a couple of months.

honestly, I'd be happy to just get up to 26 quality books a year.

^,^^ I supplement with audiobooks. I listen at work and while doing stuff around the house or walkimg the dog. It really helps out.
