And the stronger teams always complained about getting less rest before their Thursday game in the big tourney.

I do not like the new schedule, but it's whatever. It's gonna be different cause of all the new teams anyway.

^ I agree. I know I sound like an old fart. But I like the tourney ending on Sunday. And I like it being in Greensboro. The fact that it no longer ends on Sunday and won't be in Greensboro for a long time makes me sad

Unrelated: I am stupid and trying to figure out how the tourney would've worked with Cuse eligible. Are there then 3 Tuesday games?

Sounds like there were two good games today, wish I could have seen them. I am from Greensboro although I live in the Raleigh area since college and I hate to see the tournament most likely leaving Greensboro. And I highly doubt that the four teams that played today during a work day will draw a big crowd in New York City, but we will see.

Yeah I hate being able to go to the games on a day trip.

How does this affect you if you are watching on TV?

With the Big East no more, ACC gets the slot they had before, across the entire tournament, including the final. Prime territory. Selection committee has nothing to do with it... all about TV $$$

I'm fine with the new schedule as long as teachers still let their students watch the games.

I don't care that it's 4 school days now instead of 1 like it was when I was in school.

Yeah, because that was so important turning the Big East into the mega power conference it was. Oh wait...

Fuck John Swofford for turning this conference into the Big East.

historically speaking... given that at least one or two prior ACCT games go longer than planned on a given day - how likely is it that NCSU/PITT starts later than 7pm?

0%, because the game before it will be over by 430 or 5.

I wouldn't mind purchasing semifinal and final day tickets to the one in Brooklyn. I couldn't justify spending an entire NY trip just to watch basketball, but I think I could get three games out of it. But with my luck, we'd lose in the first round.

I could justify a trip to New York for basketball. But I couldn't justify spending four days of a NYC trip on basketball, especially when I've never been. But take a four day trip, and depending on what our seed is, spend 2 days sight seeing, and two days watching the games. Would be doable.

Good thing about GSO or Charlotte is you go there and you watch the games, you don't feel like you need to stop by and see the white house or something.

Assuming we do well in NC, having the tourney in different markets could really help recruiting, guize.

I guess I should have elaborated so dumbasses wouldn't get confused.

I like to watch the entire ACC tournament. I watched both games yesterday and will watch all of the games today. I've only been to the tournament a couple times when I was younger, but I went to the entire thing...I love ACC basketball.

My initial thought of going to NY to go to the ACC tournament was, "That would be awesome, but spending the majority of my trip watching 4 days of ACC basketball would seem like a waste of a trip to NY."

So if I could go and just watch the last two days and spend the rest of the time doing other shit, then it would be a doable trip. That wouldn't be easy for me, because I would hate to miss out on State's first game or two, but it's the only way I could justify the trip.

I believe what he's saying is that during ACC Tournament, there's nothing he'd rather do than watch the ACC Tournament, which I agree with. Which is feasible in GSO or Charlotte. It's not feasible in NYC.

He's not saying he'd plan a trip to NYC during non-ACCT and watch crappy basketball instead of sight seeing.

It won't turn to shit, but it will lose $25 million in revenue per year. There is nothing else that brings in as much money. I would count on a few restaurants near the Coliseum to go out of business.

Also, I'm in a perfect position at work today where I can watch both afternoon games. Gonna feel like middle school all over again!

You guys do realize this isn't the first time the acc tournament won't be in Greensboro, right?

Y'all acting like somebody died. I'm sure it will be better in NY than it has been in Atlanta and DC. If it's not, it'll just be in Greensboro more often.

You guys are retarded. This game is pretty entertaining. Good offense (especially for these two teams)...but even better defense. I love blocks.

This tournament has been awesome so far and we haven't even gotten to the good teams yet.

Bubble Guts = Ryan Harrow

The reference is from when he would sit out of big games due to a stomach ache (nerves). Transferred from NCSU to Georgia State after Syndey Lowe was fired.

I watched both. This game just has better defense. FSU is shotting 47% and Clemson is almost shooting 40%...which is pretty good for them. Obviously this game could be more exciting...but it's above expectations for two shitty teams where defense is their MO.

Lowers your expectations guys. This wasn't going to be a barn burner. Just look for a close game and hope the teams shoot higher than 35%.

^^ minus the part where he was at Kentucky for 2 years

I have no idea who's calling the game, but I was listening to Clemson/FSU on 99.9 and after someone got fouled and went to the line for two shots, one of them said "he'll have to get two points the old-fashioned way." made me wonder if he understood why the and-1 is called the old-fashioned three-point play or if he just heard the term before and was trying to apply it without knowing what he was talking about.
