We have a good chance as long as unemployed bum Herbert Sendek doesn't show up asking for a handout.

I mean if we take them for granted because "we already beat them"...then they really learned nothing from that ass-kicking Duke gave us.

In my experience you only get lag when traveling east (or really far west). Going from NC to CA for me is just like switching from my weekday routine to my weekend routine. I get up 3 hrs later, stay up 3 hrs later, etc.

^I'm not saying we DID take Duke for granted, just saying if we take Louisville for granted because "we beat them once already", then that would be pretty dumb considering we beat Duke once and then they crushed us.

^ I love this team, but there has been plenty of "pretty dumb" moments this entire season. We beat them in their house when they had Chris Jones so I don't think its unreasonable for this team to get over confident going into Friday. I just hope they go with the mindset that Louisville is going to be at their best because as we all know Pitino will have his guys prepared.

UofL have been shitting it up these past few games. They go through insanely long stretches in games without FGs. We need to capitalize on it.

We NEED to, But WILL we..... that is the question.

or will Turner break out and score 27. If we get into the mid/high 70s i think we have a really good shot. if its a low scoring game it will be a nail biter.

oh shit this could be big

even if we dont win the ncaa tourney or anything, a win over Louisville (regardless of Chris Jones being suspended for rape) is a chance at revenge and the elite eight that we dont normally get with the shitty conference realignment schedule

What a dumb question. Would we replace Lacey with Whittenburg? Or Abu with Thurl Bailey? What about David Thompson for Staats?

Okay seriously though we need Nard Dog to contain Harrell again. We take care of the ball and guard the three, we GOTT this.

Rosier has accounted for 50% of their offense in the first two games. That's insane. Bottle him up, throw our bigs at Harrell and make the other guys beat us. If they do, tip your hat.

IIRC last game Harrell got 1 bucket and the rest of his points were from the FT line. We've got 4 bigs we can throw at him to assist with any one of the big's foul trouble. If we can contain Rozier and get a decent game from 2 of our 3 guards we can win this shit. It would be soooooo nice to get a big game out of Ralston and a low-stress win. (But I think we all know it'll never be that easy)

Freeman << Harrell
Abu >> Mathiang
Lacey = Rozier
Turner > Blackshear
Barber >> Snider
Anya > Onuaku

State rest of bench > Ville rest of bench

Gott < Pitino

We still Gott this

Fair enough.

Also, the worst thing about this game is its going to be a battle of shitty postseason adidas uniforms. It's gonna look like everyone on the courts shorts are sagging.

And both teams will have the same warmups.

"Cardinals Destiny"
"Wolfpack Destiny"

I guess we will be wearing the grays?

Turner was straight up torched by Blackshear last game. Aside from a turnover fest or being dominated on the boards, coming out even on that matchup would guarantee victory. They only have two other guys that can score.

Yea, but that was blackshears like second best game of the season i think. So it seems like an anomaly for him to play that well again.

Of course, it could have some meaning in how shitty he was defended and we may see it again.

Half way through the week. Time seems to be moving oh so slowly. I understand those of you who want to prolong that feeling of still being in the tournament, but I'm ready to see what this team can do. And after a weekend packed with basketball, I'm having withdrawals.

I heard some statistics on the radio about the coach in this tournie who has most exceeded the expectations of their tournament seeding in the past is Izzo. The second is... Pitino (of course, it's harder for the Duke's and Carolina's to exceed their tournament seedings when they've been seeded 1 or 2 so often)

Quote :
"In the second meeting with teams, Louisville is 4-0. But if you throw in all rematches, Louisville is 4-1 as they lost to Carolina in the ACC Tournament. They avenged two of their seven regular-season loses this year (North Carolina and Virginia) in addition to sweeping Miami and Pitt. The only two teams to go up in points per possession from first to second meeting against Louisville was UVa (in a loss)…NC State went 3-3 in second meetings, getting revenge on Clemson and Carolina (plus beating Pitt twice), but losing at Wake, to Duke and getting swept by Virginia. NC State’s last two rematches - Pitt and Duke - saw their opponents’ PPP go up an average of +0.29 (!). But in the previous four rematches, it went down an average of +0.09, bolstered by UNC going down nearly a half-point per possession. NC State went up in PPP in three of six rematches and went 2-1 in those games (Clemson, Pitt wins and Wake loss)."

That's what I love (and hate) about our team. But I think that statistic alone says a lot about coaching and preparation. I think we can still win this one, but I don't see Louisville making the same mistakes in this game.

Wae rewards coaches for underperforning during the regular season And inversely, penalizes coaches for having more "wae" in the regular season.
