Center with a shot. Young Bogut or David Lee.
But his dribbling skill is awesome. Definitely better than Okafor

i dunno who is dumber, the Hornets for allegedly passing up 6 draft picks so they could take Kaminsky, or the Celtics for offering to mortgage their future RG3- or Herschel Walker-style for Winslow. Winslow. Not Towns or Okafor or Lebron, but Winslow.

Frank the Tank with an impressive summer league so far. Killing that pick and pop and showing some great moves off the dribble. He and Kemba are going to be nasty with all the options on that pick at the top of the key.
He had a nice highlight where he pump faked a guy out of the gym and drove into the paint for a drop step spin move and 1 during the second game. It was sick. 7/7/2015 7:07:09 AM |

Welcome Lin!
He can play SG sometimes.
Quote : | "Going into my first true free agency as an NBA player this off-season, the one thing that mattered to me the most was finding a team that would be a good fit for me.I wanted to be on a team where I would be able to play freely and truly play the game I love with joy again. That has always been the most important thing to me. After a LOT of prayer and long discussions with family and friends, I wanted to personally let you guys know I'll be joining the Charlotte Hornets.
My journey has never looked the way I (or anyone else) thought it would, but God has always worked things out for my good and I am confident that he will continue to do so. I want to thank Coach Clifford and the Hornets organization for this opportunity - for taking the time to talk to me, understanding my game, and most importantly, making it clear they believe in me. For those of you who have been patiently waiting for news, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for joining me on this journey. To the Lakers organization and the city of Los Angeles, thank you for your support this past season.
I have no idea what is coming next, but I promise I will do everything in my power to contribute to this team and to improve as a player and as a person. Here’s to the next chapter! #audienceofOne #BuzzCity " |

Be hard to beat Lin for a backup PG. Lin/Lamb is a pretty good backup duo.
Still fucking stupid they took Kaminsky. Even if he turns out to be decent, it was an awful pick. Could have got multiple first rounders from Boston. 7/8/2015 11:49:40 PM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148439 Posts user info edit post |
people are still clinging to that multiple first rounder rumor? and basketball is about the worst sport to trade quality for quantity.
i wasn't in love with the pick (though he's looked good in summer league) but what good are a plethora of extra late 1st or early 2nd round picks when you play an 8 or 9 man rotation
hell, we can't even hit on half of our lottery picks, so I have no confidence in Choverated to do anything later on in the draft

Danny Ainge pretty much admitted it, so I do not really see otherwise than believe "that rumor"
Maybe we were thinking the next GM could make some good picks. Won't matter, MJ is the one that wanted Frank. 7/9/2015 12:17:49 AM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148439 Posts user info edit post |
Ainge didn't admit shit specifically in regards to how many or what round picks
Quote : | ""The fans, they feed into what’s being written and said a lot, too," Ainge said. "But I did say that we would try to move up. The price was way too high. There’s so many rumors out there. There’s so many things that are being said and written that are not even close to being true, that are just made up stories -- no sources and fake sources -- and people get caught up in these rumors and their expectations go even higher."" |
But how come none of the other teams in the top 8 took it? Why didn't the Pistons or Nuggets take it? All the experts said there was a severe talent drop after the top-15 or so. I don't want to get a multitude of D-League players just because it's extra bodies
Not giving up on Frank yet. The guy was pretty good the last 2 years.7/9/2015 12:37:58 AM |

^Exactly, they offered the same deal to multiple teams and they rejected it, but we're dumb because we rejected it?
I wanted Winslow over Frank, but apparently Frank has been playing well in the Summer League. I think he'll end up being an "OK" pick, just depends on if Winslow lives up to the hype and becomes a premiere player in the league. 7/9/2015 9:08:12 AM |

It seems this would be the current depth chart
PG: Kemba/Lin SG: Batum/Lamb SF: MKG/Marvin Williams PF: Zeller/Frank C: Jefferson/Hawes
I guess Brian Roberts, PJ and Troy Daniels are the other 3 players on the roster? Any other front court guys in the mix?
Seems like a much better offensive unit but a suspect defensive one, especially at the 4/5 spots. At least they'll be able to go small if needed, as Batum has enough size to play 3 and then move MKG/Marvin to the 4. 7/9/2015 11:04:31 PM |

MKG is an elite defender; Batum, and Zeller are above average, and Kemba can be an absolute pest on the ball when he's not getting blasted by picks. The 5 spot is really the only thing that worries me.
Wish we would've brought Biz back. He would've been cheap and given us a legit rim-protector. Not resigning him is the only offseason move I don't get so far.7/10/2015 3:01:49 PM |

Troy Daniels has been tearing it up in the summer league so far - I really hope he sticks. He's been shooting lights out from 3 and just seems like an all-around good basketball player. Aaron Harrison has been a nice surprise too. He's actually doing better than his bro who was actually drafted 7/10/2015 10:48:43 PM |

It's hard to be a good defensive team when 3/4 of your frontcourt are goofy, soft white guys and the other one is a known to be a defensive liability. Can the backcourt guys make up for the lack of rim protection? I have serious doubts.7/10/2015 11:04:19 PM |

The Hornets reached a deal to get Aaron Harrison in camp after tearing it up in summer league. Looks like he'll be battling Brian Roberts for that 3rd point guard role.
I wish there was some way he could go ahead and take PJ's spot. I'm sure absolutely nobody is surprised that PJ's in trouble again. I don't know how much the organization is willing to put up with before they cut ties, but it has to be close now. 7/13/2015 8:45:23 AM |

He doesn't have a shot in hell to beat Roberts out.
A body for camp then he's back in the day league.
Cho is trying desperately to make playoffs this year to save his ass. He's not gonna sacrifice wins on a long term pet project.
Can't see this team in the playoffs. Kemba just isn't there and we are way too weak defensively. We have the weakest defensive bugs in the NBA. Letting biyombo go was a huge mistake. Hawes and batum are coming off career worst years offensively
Realistically the only franchises we are in better shape than right now are the kings and nets. I'd trade our current roster, picks, and cap situation for anyone else on the league easily. Could argue Knicks i guess... 7/13/2015 11:43:20 AM |
