our reputation of playing down to the level of our opponents caused the spread to be only 5. then we lose which further validates the idea that our spreads will be lower than they should be.

we'll come out and be world beaters against top teams though. this type of inconsistency is not a good thing but a lot of people here appreciate it.

the logical premise of your idea is flawed as history doesn't work as an inhibitor of the future. maybe programs that lack facilities, resources or exposure would also lack history but lacking history doesn't inhibit you like those things

The play at the end of the regulation when Caleb didn't switch on the screen against Cat and allowed Cat's guy to shoot an uncontested 3 to tie the game was the back breaker. Completely on Gott for not having the guys switching screens and defending the 3 there.

This is why Henderson's injury hurt us so much. Caleb as a 3rd scoring option that shoots the ball maybe 8 times a game is one thing, but with Henderson's injury he was pressed into a much bigger role and Maverick was pressed into playing way too many minutes. I want Caleb to reign it in a lot too, but I'm not sure who else takes those shots. Maverick was supposed to be some dead eye shooter and he's been bad, Caleb (outside of the first 4 or 5 games) has been terrible, and none of our bigs should ever be taking a shot that isn't a lay up or dunk.

For all of Washington's issues in terms of needing to learn how to be more efficient and not a total black hole on offense he easily could've started this year and been our 2nd most consistent scorer. We need a big man who can bring some sort of offensive presence in a bad way.

This! He was removed from the starting lineup and replaced with Freeman because Freeman was a better rebounder. We could have used his offense this year.
