it was a very dumb foul by markell. don't think it was "intentional" in the sense that i don't think the coaches were telling them to foul. markell was probably just trying to make up for his turnover on the play before. but yeah it was totally idiotic and hurt badly.

Things were going so well and then all of a sudden we suck again. That foul call on Abu at the end of regulation when ther leading scorer drove looked like complete crap. Abu went straight up and their guy jumped into Abu and flailed his arms into the air and he gets the free throws.

I was at the pnc and watched this sequence closely and it was probably the loudest it had been all night in the arena and Gott was jumping around waving his arms wildly trying to say communicate to the team. At that point the team already wasn't fouling them and just in our standard defense so I can see why Markell would have gotten confused and thought he meant to foul when he was acting so crazy. Gott would have been better off sitting down because the kids were already doing the right thing.
