A goal for each of the best front 3 in the league. Let's see if the others can keep up.

Hope Mourinho keeps on wrecking shit. The retribution to shut all of you up would be glorious.

lol shut us up about what? I think United are favorites for top 3.

Also still standing by what I said because I didn't say anything about a midfield. Obviously United's is much better...

Lol at Draxler rumors again. PSG are playing FIFA Ultimate Team at this point. No clue what quality and value are.

United should be good. FFS, look what they spend. Has anyone on here said they wouldn't be this year?

They look fantastic. Stone feet Lukaku doesn't need a first touch when he is served up goals on a platter. He can bag 20-25 easy on that squad.

Mkhitaryn looks great in the center too. Smooth distributor.. still have questions about defense against more impressive teams but Bailly has improved a lot too.

Actually thought Arsenal played well. Some bad luck and one lapse. Should have won. But didn't and that's what matters. Tough next three games too and this season can look bleak quick..

[Edited on August 20, 2017 at 12:54 PM. Reason : Wembley is loud. Good response by Chelsea though after last week. Spurs have to learn to win there]

It's frustrating because we outplayed them and had the better chances but they walk away with the win. 2 goals on 3 shots on target feels like bad luck more than anything.

And I love Lloris but he should be saving that 2nd goal imo.

^ U Mad?

No Spurs player could put the ball in the net. All 3 goals were scored by Blues.

I will take the W considering Pedro wasn't 100% fit, no Cahill and Fabregas due to stupid unecessary red cards against Burnley and no Hazard.

^^^ I think we are the minority here in that thinking, but I too didn't feel they were as bad as all the talk. Especially considering only having a single true CB out there.

Again a thoroughly enjoyable weekend again overall. I know it is super early in the season but it appears to be shaping up to a very interesting year.

Last thought - I love the Championship high that Huddersfield is still on.

I honestly have more trust in the defense than the attack. I think we are fine defensively barring injuries. Not to mention after beating our defense they still have to beat De Gea. Bailly was our best defender last year and will continue to be this year. I think we are really missing Rojo though. Rojo as a CB was great to pair with Bailly. I think one of Smalling and Jones will be moving on next year.

If we win the title this year, long long way to go still, it will have been because of one person IMO. That's Matic. The guy is exactly what we needed to make our attack tick and its doing wonders for us. I think Mourinho has got the team in shape to start this season strong.

With the rumored return of Zlatan and Rojo coming back in December as well I think we have the depth to seriously challenge for the title this year and also do well in the cups. Hope Martial gets the start over Rashford next match. The lad deserves it.

Most of all United fans are just plain excited at the football on display over the last two matches. We looked a class above and that alone is a stark contrast to last year when these lower sides would pack the box and just hold out while we missed chance after chance. I would love to be in a proper title challenge this year.

This is completely unrelated to this thread but I got tickets to the Ireland WCQ game on 9/5. Pretty pumped.

wazza31, I assume you've been to England games before and the ticket distribution is similar I'm sure. I got my tickets on Ticketmaster. They don't sell tickets to public that would be in Serbian section do they? I don't want to wear Green and be in the middle of a bunch of angry Serbs!

Moral of CL draw story. Finish 4th and 5th. Not 1st and 2nd.

[Edited on August 24, 2017 at 12:45 PM. Reason : Or 6th. IDK if United finished ahead of Arsenal, not that it matters.]

Spurs with group of death

Chelsea with some intriguing matchups especially if Costa is sold to Atletico.

3-4 English teams should make it to knockout round.

I haven't been to an England match in ages and I didn't buy tickets whenever I did. Fan section tickets are usually marked as such though. I would see what section you are in and see what sections are assigned to the fans. That info should be available somewhere. It's usually the corners of the stadiums. Ireland will be a good atmosphere though have fun.

Happy with the draw. Could have been terrible for pool but spurs drew the short end of the stick there. Agree that both pool and united should be making it out of the group. Last time we had benfica and Basel we finished 3rd though haha. Much different situation though so I am glad. Hate the trip to moscow though.

I'm actually not really that fussed about the group. If we've got everyone healthy this go round we should be finishing 2nd. It's always a special occasion to get a home and home with Real too.

Man I don't know enough about soccer and the PL to say where this front 3, but they are fun as hell to watch. Salah could finish better but he has been an excellent attacker, I feel like Firmino is playing better than last season, and Mane is Mane.

Yea Dortmund is much better than spurs I can't see it. Spurs don't have the depth to play two matches a week. Especially against quality opposition like Dortmund and Madrid. Europa again for me.

Lol, just saw this. If we get 40m for him it's good.

But also lol at starting him at RWB, Bellerin out of position, a LB at CB and leaving Kolasinic on bench. Also at being down 2 goals, pulling Ramsey and putting Coquelin in.

Honestly have to question Wenger for that loss. Why play Ox when you know you are selling? Why not play Kolasnic and your record breaking transfer striker who played well in the first two matches?

Wenger will rebound and then finish around 5-7 and then perhaps he gets sacked. Arsenal need a new manager and start fresh. It will be a few seasons of struggle but at the end they will get it right. Look at Liverpool and United at the moment. Still a long way to go for both but you can see its looking much better.

^ Ox, no Kolasnic, left Welbeck on for 90, played Lacazette on the wing when he finally came on, 3 at the back... just so many stupid decisions. Seemed like he intentionally wanted to get hammered.

No reason Arsenal can't compete for top four still. Don't get me wrong, Wenger is finished and we aren't title contenders but the condemnation is both deserved and over the top. People out there stating they are barely a top half team based on three games are being absurd (not saying anyone on here is).

[Edited on August 29, 2017 at 8:51 AM. Reason : ^ this. Tactical travesty. You could tell before kickoff midfield would be overrun.]

I don't think its an overreaction. If you sell Ox, Sanchez, and Mustafi then you lose three key players in my opinion. Its also the decision making. Wenger has supposedly been training for this back 3 formation all summer and they look ill prepared. What is Arsenal's plan on replacing these individuals? So far there is none and there are two days left in the window.

I honestly don't think the squad you have right now is good enough for the top 4 and its thinning more apparently. Chelsea, United, Liverpool, and Spurs at this moment look much better and the squad chemistry is also miles ahead. I think this is the season that breaks the camels back perhaps.

I'm more apt to agree with wazza right now. This team is no where near able to fight for a top 4 spot currently.

I'm holding off full judgement until Thursday when the window closes but I expect nothing - as usual. And that saddens me greatly.

Team has no chance to compete for top 4 because of Wenger.

League is way too strong for him to compete. The whole club is a mess.

[Edited on August 29, 2017 at 2:27 PM. Reason : Any other top 7 club wouldn't have given him a renewal]

Wat. He isn't worth £35-40m to me though he is certainly talented. Would you be ok with that cost aimorris? He wouldn't start at Liverpool but he would provide cover at RW, CM and RB.

Of course he isn't. Barkley isn't worth $30M. Evans isn't worth whatever the fuck City is bidding. Coutinho not even close to what Barca are bidding. I personally don't give a shit tho and would love some more depth and he is very versatile. As long as it doesn't prevent a star like Lemar signing or VVD, I'm all for it. And it doesn't seem like LFC are only buying if they sell. We'll see. Funny enough, I think they got a hell of a deal on Keita. He is LEGIT.
