A lot of guys gave us a lot of good minutes. It's awesome.

Loved the pace, it had AZ lost defensively on several possessions. Awesome.

Guys were hustling all over the damn court the full game. Awesome.

AZ got some points but we also looked really organized and made some plays defensively. Awesome.

So nice watching a team that was patient offfensively after seeing us just jack shots and hope for the best for so long.

-We had a clear offensive identity (pick, roll, drive, kick, post. )
-no one tried to jack 3s over defenders or force the issue
-Freeman was under control the whole time.
-We kicked out for resests when things got muddled (hadn't seen that before)

great win pack! We led just about the entire game, and I don't really remember Arizona leading by more than 2 or 3 points and that would only be for a possession. The guys stay composed and looked like they knew what they were doing out there. I was very impressed by our defense especially against the leading NCAA scorer and a monster in ayton.

- Second regular season win over a top-2 non-conference opponent in program history, last one was over Cincinnati in 1958

- Last time we beat a non-conference team ranked in the top-2 nationally was Houston in '83

This Northern Iowa/SMU result will be big for us, tho I'm not sure which way to root for

- Losing to SMU won't look bad at the end of the year but I think that's a rough draw, low chance to win
- N Iowa is a game we can't really afford to lose with our Sendekian OOC, but it should be winnable. Slow team with a bunch of tall whiteys we could speed up, a bit turnover prone, although Jacobsen is a decent coach

Tennesee will be waiting in the 3rd place game and thats no gimme either. N Iowa is probably what we want, 2-1 with the loss being Nova aint bad. 1-2 no matter how we get there is moral victory time, of course it's one hell of a moral victory

It didn't change my expectation. I don't see us making the NCAA Tournament. This is a huge win though. It could be a difference maker in March when we are in the hunt for a spot in the NCAA, or NIT. We really need to beat UNI now and have Villanova win their semi-final, so we have a tough schedule to boost our resume.

Also, this early in the season, there's no knowing what Arizona will be like the rest of the way. We may have exposed their defensive weaknesses to the entire country. But I can't imagine them giving up 90 points on a regular basis.

Or, it could be Arizona isn't warmed up yet. Like the time UNC lost their cupcake opener then won the national championship in the same season. It might not be a great reflection of who we are or will be by season's end...but could be the decider of us getting a mid-to-low NCAA seed vs a #1 NIT seed.

I'm worried that we're going to come out flat tomorrow. But it was worth it to have such a huge win.
