This is how I wanted us to play during the last 5 minutes of the Wake game...slow it down, use up the clock, make smart shots, give them fewer opportunities to come back. Glad they figured it out.

Interesting - didn't realize Gottfried went 9-7 his first year. I know we definitely lost a lot of games we should have, and I believe that was the year we blew a 30 point lead at Duke.

All that bullshit aside, I feel more entrenched in the Kevin Keatts hype every game.

Our two most important players -- Yurt, Markell -- combined for 9 points, and we still won going away. Impressive.

Gotta give it to Al Freeman. He's doing a lot of good things out there and cut the dumb things down to a minimum. He's also become really good at creating his own shot when the clock is winding down. Easily the best on the team.

Al Freeman went all Trevor Lacey iso on us tonight, was fun to watch, just wish he would have hit the three. If we could cut out our handful of dumb turnovers each game we would be very impressive.

Al played great accept for a couple of possessions late in the game where he ran point. He missed two shots early in the shot clock leading to 4 points the other way when we should have been trying to use a little clock. Finally Markell took back control and slowed it down.

He also knocked those late free throws down like it was nothing. Love seeing that!
