Clemson is ready now, alumni will come home to watch the Textile Bowl game. And they beat Wake Forest 63-3 today. 10/6/2018 7:31:58 PM |

Glad they found a way to win despite shooting themselves in the foot so many times. Kind of impressive actually. We could have ran away with it if not for the turnovers and mistakes on special teams. A W is a W and maybe this keeps them hungry to correct some of the mistakes made so it doesn’t come back to bite us the rest of the way forward.
I know that there are still a lot of games left to play, but if we are being honest with Syracuse losing to Pitt today, the game in Death Valley now becomes the de facto Atlantic division championship game as either team would need to lose twice to not make it to Charlotte. I could see Gameday going there given the recent close games the past two years, towel-gate, laptop-gate, and the back and forth Dave and Dabo have had in the media lately. I mean look at when Doeren said to the media everyone is chasing Clemson in terms of standings and facilities and Dabo tried to feign offense to it. 10/6/2018 8:00:52 PM |

Yeah, and they nearly lost to Syracuse last week. And put up fewer points against them than Pittsburgh did today. Doesn't mean anything.10/6/2018 9:03:40 PM |

I mean, they are in great shape now. Syracuse is a tough team, they made an amazing comeback, which shows their endurance. Gonna be a great game to watch. 10/6/2018 9:30:35 PM |

2) even if it’s not close...they’re a top 5 team. It’s kinda expected that they would win easily at home against us. " |
Ah yes. the 'got-all-my-bases-covered' argument.10/6/2018 10:37:55 PM |

Btw,they won the game against WF as guest at Winston Salem not at their home court. It’s a perfect game 10/7/2018 6:41:52 AM |

here's my 'bold' prediction. Everyone is all hype that we're 5-0. Heading into Clemson next week we get caught with our pants down. Fan base blows up. We beat UNC and head to a bowl. And everything is OKed. 10/7/2018 10:14:02 AM |

The team rushing total was the program's best since 1981 and the fourth-best in its history." |

If you put the let down at the end in the context of looking ahead to Clemson, then I can't really blame them. This is a good football team, and Person's emergence especially really gives us a new look on offense. I think if Hines wasn't hurt when we played them last year, we would have beaten them. Obviously Person isn't Hines but he's that dynamic playmaker in the backfield we were missing. Still need to play basically perfect game on offense and come up with some turnovers on defense, but we can win. 10/7/2018 10:37:31 AM |

I still think Clemson is vulnerable. Wake's defense is absolutely terrible (they fired their D-coordinator a couple weeks ago), and Clemson had them on the ropes by the start of the 2nd quarter.
Because of that, Clemson's freshman QB really had no pressure to make plays. He certainly made all the "easy throws" when asked, but he mainly just handed it off or threw little bubble screens all game.
If we can put up some points on Clemson's d and force the QB to keep up, I think we'll see some freshman mistakes come out. Our defense will certainly be a bigger challenge than Wake's 10/7/2018 10:46:59 AM |
