UVa was there for the taking. Lots of TOs. Salt fouled out. Guy was off. But even an off UVa is gonna play great D and it’s gonna take a good shooting night to beat them. 34% from the field isn’t gonna beat UVa. 67% FTs isn’t either.

We played well defensively. Didn’t turn it over. Didn’t get in foul trouble. Gonna be hard to play like that every game, but it’s good to see us correct some of the issues that have plagued us recently. Definitely need Markell 100%

Loser: Other announcer Not only did he fail to reference the right band and song, he fumbled trying to be clever.

I really like Ellis, buy him a beer in a heartbeat. His analysis is really great.

I see why UVA hasn't won it all under Bennett who is an excellent coach. All it takes is a really hot shooting team and they're done. Their style of play is so premeditated that if they're in a big hole they have to speed up which is completely against their philosophy.

Markell Johnson is my favorite player since possibly forever. He's always in the mix defensively. Creates steals. Can drive, and assist.

That’s the most at peace I’ve ever been leaving the PNC after a loss. Guy and Jerome are so damn good in person. Especially Jerome. We already are to a certain extent , but holy hell we are going to be a nightmare to play in year 4 or 5 of the Keatts era .

Gotta win at home! We aren't going to be great until we can be almost impossible to beat at home. Lucky for us we have won two road games to make up for the two home losses.

That was the best crowd in person for a game I have seen other than Duke or UNC games in the 14 years I have been going to our games. The students on the announcer side finally started busting the refs balls like 2000-2008 range until they got soft.

i get this, and there's truth to it. obviously. but...their defense is more than "fine". it's one of the best in the nation. and their offense, while slow and deliberate, is the best offense they've had under Bennett. their defensive style is also built to prevent games where they need to get into a shootout. this seems like Bennett's best team at UVa. offense ranks #4 in KenPom, defense ranks #2. previous UVa teams were:

2017-18: 30th in O, 1st in D
16-17: 50th in O, 2nd in D
15-16: 8th in O, 7th in D
14-15: 21st in O, 2nd in D
13-14: 27th in O, 4th in D

their style is dumb and boring...but i also think this the best iteration of it so far.

We could've had them, but we had some shortcomings. BB was strangely quiet all game. WW stepped it up and had a tremendous performance. I take back everything I said about him being a waste of height. He's alright with me.
