"You are right. Most people think MD. But there Drs in most professions. And I think I was not unclear on her profession from the jump so not sure where the confusion was. Most pharmacists go through a six year pharmacy degree program now. So by all qualifications she is called a doctor of pharmacy."

Yes and in the healthcare profession they are called MDs.

People can achieve the title of doctor in many fields what are you not understand about this? I made it very clear in the beginning that she was a pharmacist. I never said she was an MD. She can hold herself out as a Doctor of Pharmacy. To misrepresent her as an MD would not be acceptable. Drop it man. You are splitting hairs and if you read my posts I made it clear.

Jeez how many times do I have to say this was not meant to be a vaccine debate. I’m not going to tell someone that they should get a vaccine that has more knowledge on it than I do on it. It was an unemployment question. I get it for those who think she’s she’s stupid. But that wasn’t the question. Please lock this thread.

I've spent the last decade in education both on the medical school side and the pharmacy school side. Pharmacy school is pretty brutal but Med school is even harder. In general all MDs are addressed as Doctor, but on the Pharmacy side we usually only call those with both a PharmD and PhD Doctor. The students address all instructors as Doctor.

The one that screws with me are a few of the instructors on the Nursing school side who are addressed as Doctor because they have a PhD in Nursing but are also still nurses in a patient care environment. Apparently some states have legislated they can't be called Doctor when dealing with patients.

She knows a lot more about it.

How do we get access to the secret repository of pharmacist knowledge of unpublished vaccine problems?

Your friend reminds me of this pharmacist:

Larry bailed and went with the doctor because he had seen "Cofey was Here" scratched into the table at the Japanese restaurant he mentioned, in much the same way I would bail if I knew my pharmacist was spouting some anti-vax BS all over the internet. I would bail based on what I read about her from you on The Wolf Web.

30+years of pharmacy experience. Multiple hours of CE a year. PharmD daily contact with MDs and other pharmacists. Actually gives vaccines all day. Yea I’m not gonna go there because clearly decision is made and she will likely own me with her research and reasoning. Again please lock this thread. It has gone way off track and just become a honey pot for people to troll. I did not ask anyone for a vaccine opinion I have made it clear this was not the purpose more times than I can count.

30 years of pharmacy experience and she's going to give up her career over a vaccine that has been taken by 4.5 billion people. honestly really sad.

I hear ya. Retail pharmacists are used and abused at chains. This coming from multiple pharmacists. I worked as a tech in college full time and their service is a thankless job. They slashed hours pre covid and then made them all get covid vaccine certified, check prescriptions, give rapid tests, they can’t hire techs as they drop like flies because the patients abuse them. All of the pharmacies started hiring again because pharmacists are also quitting at record levels. I know meh meh meh this is what she agreed too long ago but she is on the fence on if she even wants to stay in retail. It’s dangerous in all honesty. 120 shots in a 12 hour shift at the peak of it while the phone rings constantly and you are also tasked with checking to make sure what the Dr writes lands in the bottle and then they ask you to make calls to people to increase profits by reminding people to refill their prescription. Sorry, I’m not defending her vax position. Just was asking if she chose to get fired to find something more clinical after this blows over would she be able to collect unemployment would she be able to. I have my answer now.

Oh yea and they slashed the starting salary for new grads to $40k so they don’t want the jobs because they will never get out of their college debt with 6 years of tuition to pay back.

Seems like he hangs out with lots of pharmacists. Which is neither here nor there. I’m just impressed with his in depth knowledge of the industry and job market

Just a lot of old coworkers that were in the field. Some were techs that went into school for pharmacy after I worked with them as techs and some who were pharmacists while I worked. The answer I concluded was she would likely not be eligible. There is a mass exodus from retail as they all want to go to specialty. This is her goal. Pay cut but more Cush desk job. She already has an in with another friend who quit to get out of the shit show. She will get it when a new seat opens. I appreciate the answers I received.

i'm guessing with all the breakthrough cases of Omicron, there is now a 0.0% chance you convince your SO to just get vaccinated?

My hr lady said if associate tests positive for covid, that person could file for unemployment. Perhaps she can hope to get covid and file then?

Look’s like she got an offer for a mostly remote rph role that doesn’t require vax, pay cut but less stress, that she will likely take. I appreciate all of the input. She wanted to move anyway this whole vid shit just happened to speed the process along. Looks like it worked out the way it should. Not defending or supporting non non vax as I see it as to each their own.

I know you don't want to keep discussing this, but since nothing much else is cooking, WHY do you see it that way? Why do we defend the rights of people to make poor decisions that inflict massive damage on a larger populace? Sometimes things need to be done for the common good, even if some are too ignorant to see that. Maybe especially if they are. I'm not trolling.

I guess because I only deal with clients who listen to my professional advice and when they don’t I fire them. So I don’t tell my mechanic how my how to fix my car, my gardener how to garden or my doctor how to read my labs. I’m not saying I agree. But I’m not going to enter into a debate with someone who has more education on a topic who has made their mind up.

And I never debated her stance. I only asked for anyone’s experience in the matter and have been appreciative to those who provided it.

Outside of your professional relationship with a client, isn't saying "to each their own", or "I think it's a personal health decision" really just an equivocation and a cop-out? Not just for you, but for anyone. We're still in a pandemic and now approaching a million American deaths and 5.5 million global deaths. How many of those people wanted to die? At what point does this stance become irresponsible and indefensible?

I am not in a position to debate with a healthcare worker on her decision what to put in her body. I asked the question, sure, and she doesn’t debate me on my financial advice. Asks questions when we go over her plan. Asking questions is one thing pushing into a debate is not worth my time to debate with someone who clearly understands the possible consequences of their options better than I. So when I said it’s all working out, she wanted to leave her job, likely won’t take unemployment work less hours away from being a possible spreader.

I hope your pharma friend gets COVID and spreads to her family and they die. She can live, but only until she gets cancer and dies from that.
