This country is literally built on systematic violence and fear. It's why you get quotes like this. Because the systematic violence is normalized to the point where the country doesn't even see it as violence.

But yeah, always on the lookout for those Molotov cocktails vs Jim Crow.

again, it just reinforces your idea that the state-sponsored violence need to come down even harder

we've had no problem in our history putting humans in bondage and eradicating others methodically or all at once, and there are people who would clearly love to do it again running this joint

stop acting like burning teslas are some how out of pocket or even anti-american when the party that is currently in power's primordial form literally named themselves after the Tea Party and do their best to run brown shirt behavior with zero repercussions. violence is all this country's culture knows, and it's the only thing this country respects, whether that be physical or emotional

all this country does is tell their citizens that you either point the gun or you have the gun pointed at you, and the person that pulls the trigger wins the argument

Antisocial personality disorder is real and some antisocials will use whatever to wage destruction (political, religion). The organized variety is more concerning (proud boys, antifa, whatever burned all the cities in 2020).

As far as I can tell, Antifa is just the right wing boogeyman of the moment. Who actually feels threatened by them except pussy-ass, pearl-clutching, gun-toting Republicans who endorse law enforcement abuse of brown people? They hate the federal government, except when the federal government is doing their dirty work.

No. Lone wolf attackers are typically called to action by demagoguery.

It's called stochastic terrorism.

If it wasn't demagoguery it would be something else. The media likes to spin individual acts as part of a larger thing "left-wing/right-wing terrorism, video games". The reality is most of them have no friends and couldn't influence someone to give them a decent hair cut.

Two examples of this: Audrey Hale for the right wing boogey man and Dylan Roof for the left wing.

In 2020 the town I lived in, Santa Monica, was destroyed and tourism today is still down 50% from 2019 highs. I used Antifa for a proxy for "organized left-wing terror campaign that caused mass descrution across dozens of US cities at the same time". Likely the same thing for these recent Tesla protests. Maybe it wasn't antifa/blm/dnc, but it was something organized and it is definitely left-wing. The closest right-wing version was the "unite the right" and Jan 6 (also organized https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ali_Alexander).

In the 365 days since though, downtown Santa Monica has mostly recovered from the destruction, the Public Safety Reform & Oversight Commission has appointed a Chair, and a 121-page report completed by the OIR Group released earlier this month has described the day as “a wholesale failure.”"

^ I don't really see how that's even remotely possible given the 2020 riots were in dozens of cities each with hundreds of damaged properties. That's not including Kenosha.

Quote :
"However, arson, vandalism, and looting that occurred between May 26 and June 8 caused approximately $1–2 billion in insured damages nationally, the highest recorded damage from civil disorder in U.S. history, and surpassing the record set during the 1992 Los Angeles riots."

The Capitol sustained $30 mil in damages for reference. They then tacked on a hundred million in upgrades and added in the cost of the National Guard ($500 mil). In order to add up the impact of the 2020 you'd have to do the math yourself. The $1-2 billion is just insured damages. There are lots of articles about what overtime for police costs ($600 million additional in NY alone).

You're confident that was all done by what you describe as "left-wing terrorist"? Because I'm betting a lot of the people doing the rioting and vandalism probably have very little political ideology and couldn't tell you what "left-wing" means.

Trump allied with violent protesters to essentially seize the government, tourism is down nationwide about 30% so far (using foreign travel as a proxy), your movement has killed at least 1 person for measles, there’s been at least a dozen deaths recorded overseas with thousands more expected, the economic destruction is on-going, the destruction to medical and scientific research is incalculable, we’ve yet to see the end of the white supremacist policies. They’ve even defunded all the police that go after wealthy people at the irs, sec, cfpb, they’ve defunded the police focused on white supremacist gangs at the fbi.

Meanwhile democrat candidates could barely choke out saying “black lives matter” and they all disavowed defund the police. But let’s say the most extreme of the black lives matter people won somehow, their goal wasn’t destruction like the trump-miller-musk-Yarvin philosophy, their goal was fairness and reform, it would have been much better than what we’re seeing now.

Trump aligned most recently with silicon valley, which previously was heavily leaned towards the democratic party who bit the hand that fed them. Lots of powerful people were willing to jump off team blue.

I am not a Mennonite. If you are implying I'm somehow antivax, I'm not that either (I did not take an mRNA vax, some people should). This is another fine example of an event happening and a narrative being attached to it. Mennonites routinely have measles outbreaks. This is not related to RFK.

okay, I know this is a waste of time but here goes:

The idea of "Antifa" and a global communist cabal is necessary to contemporary fascism because it is the mechanism by which followers of the cult of fascism are made to feel under attack and, as a result, led to turn off their critical thinking. Here are 14 common features of fascism as identified by Umberto Eco. What parts of this list DON'T sound like the American right?

https://www.openculture.com/2024/11/umberto-ecos-list-of-the-14-common-features-of-fascism.html

1. The cult of tradition. “One has only to look at the syllabus of every fascist movement to find the major traditionalist thinkers. The Nazi gnosis was nourished by traditionalist, syncretistic, occult elements.”

2. The rejection of modernism. “The Enlightenment, the Age of Reason, is seen as the beginning of modern depravity. In this sense Ur-Fascism can be defined as irrationalism.”

3. The cult of action for action’s sake. “Action being beautiful in itself, it must be taken before, or without, any previous reflection. Thinking is a form of emasculation.”

4. Disagreement is treason. “The critical spirit makes distinctions, and to distinguish is a sign of modernism. In modern culture the scientific community praises disagreement as a way to improve knowledge.”

5. Fear of difference. “The first appeal of a fascist or prematurely fascist movement is an appeal against the intruders. Thus Ur-Fascism is racist by definition.”

6. Appeal to social frustration. “One of the most typical features of the historical fascism was the appeal to a frustrated middle class, a class suffering from an economic crisis or feelings of political humiliation, and frightened by the pressure of lower social groups.”

7. The obsession with a plot. “Thus at the root of the Ur-Fascist psychology there is the obsession with a plot, possibly an international one. The followers must feel besieged.”

8. The enemy is both strong and weak. “By a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak.”

9. Pacifism is trafficking with the enemy. “For Ur-Fascism there is no struggle for life but, rather, life is lived for struggle.”

10. Contempt for the weak. “Elitism is a typical aspect of any reactionary ideology.”

11. Everybody is educated to become a hero. “In Ur-Fascist ideology, heroism is the norm. This cult of heroism is strictly linked with the cult of death.”

12. Machismo and weaponry. “Machismo implies both disdain for women and intolerance and condemnation of nonstandard sexual habits, from chastity to homosexuality.”

13. Selective populism. “There is in our future a TV or Internet populism, in which the emotional response of a selected group of citizens can be presented and accepted as the Voice of the People.”

14. 9. Ur-Fascism speaks Newspeak. “All the Nazi or Fascist schoolbooks made use of an impoverished vocabulary, and an elementary syntax, in order to limit the instruments for complex and critical reasoning.”

I'm not claiming a majority of gay population is for Trump
Iirc it's about 12%. Between my non representative friend group it's much higher than 12%. There were numerous stories about the religious right being pissed Trump signalled he wouldn't do anything about gay marriage.
