I woke up to this this morning

my mama had to metaphorically slap a bitch to get it, which makes it even better somehow. I'm all right now

Jealous!!!!

What will be the first thing you make? And I'd like to hear this slap a bitch story

And Mama Diva, don't worry - I saw the model pics and thought ooooo then saw that girl's attempt and thought "... WTF / crafting fail." Trust and believe they will actually look good, and I damn sure won't be using a diamond pattern. I plan on sewing a lot of the sequins and beads versus using fabric glue.

I think i'm going to make these peppermint choc chip cookies http://www.culinaryconcoctionsbypeabody.com/2010/11/28/peppermint-mikl-chocolate-cookies/

My mom and I went to a spice shop yesterday and I bought some peppermint vanilla sugar i think would be delicious on top of them

as for the story, warning WORDS. before work yesterday i saw the mixer at this store called tuesday morning i was at with my mom for $180 and i was all "man thats cheap if i had the money right now i'd be all over it" so while i was at work she went back to buy it for me. well the line was long and those things are heavy so my mom went up to the cashier and asked her if she could just leave it there on the counter while she waited her turn in line to buy it. well this bitch like 6 people ahead saw it and was all "oh i'm going to buy that for MY daughter" and my mom told her that it was on hold for her so she could buy it for me.

well this bitch actually tells my mother "well i don't see your name on it" goes and grabs it off the counter and was just being an absolute cunt. by the time this was happening the original cashier my mom had spoken to had left for the day (very long line). so my mom asked to see a manager. turns out he's the same guy my mom and I had talked to about some chairs earlier that day. so he basically tells the bitch women that my mom saw it first and she couldn't buy the mixer. bitch woman throws a complete fit and storms out.

the entire line claps for my mother and tell her they would have spoken up about how they had all seen her put it up there on hold but she seemed to be able to handle herself (aka they are all chickens) Mostly I'm just impressed she handled it all so well. if that had been me (or even her a few years ago) THAT BITCH WOULD HAVE HAD HER THROAT SLIT. my mother is completely terrifying if need be.

and thats my giant story about how my mom has way more class than I do
I guess she didn't really metaphorically bitch slap anyone, but I'm sure the more I tell the story the more badass it will become

Yeah something about Tuesday Morning attracts crazy people. You can find good deals in there but half the time the other customers in there don't make it worth it.

Diva, after more research I found that you can use hot glue or thread... And it actually doesn't hurt your skin to just wear the tights and hot glue. SO, I'm going to wear them and sew/hot glue, that way I know exactly where they fall and such. I also had the idea of taking a sharpie or pen and dotting the design I wanted while wearing them... That might work better for the sewing bit.

You ladies are inspiring me to try screenprinting a pair of tights. Any ideas for something cute to poke out the top of some boots? A Blunderbuss gun was my first thought...

So Hue has some embellished tight for only $25- which would be a lot easier than embellishing them yourself.

Smashbox mascara doesn't leave black flecks, and it's pretty good mascara. I can't use it anymore because my eyes are super-sensitive and I need something all natural. So, I use Tarte's all natural line, and it's great mascara, rarely flecks, but a little more expensive than Smashbox.

I like CoverGirl's eye lights, and I just got the new Mascara by Neutrogena.. love it. Also, Big Fatty by Urban Decay is always good

I got my dress yesterday - I ordered it Tuesday! ModCloth is crazy fast. It's black, so I'm not sure why it looks a little blue on my screen, but oh well. I was worried about the elastic thing in the middle of the skirt but I don't think it looks bad at all

Close up of the detail on the chest/back... it has a pretty pattern and is sheer

Overall, happy with my choice

If you don't mind me asking, Sam, what size do you have to get bc of your bewbs? I would prob have to get the same size. Kind of happy you've been able to buy from there bc that means I can buy from there.

Extremely cute dress! You can dress it down with a cardigan and belt to wear to work or wear it out to a bar or to a nice dinner.

Thanks ladies

Amna, I always get a large but I also read reviews. There's always at least one busty girl who has bought the dress, and they're usually honest if it's extremely tight versus baggy versus just right. That Ignite the Night dress I have (wore it for the engagement pics) is AMAZING for big boobs, and it's made by the same people who made their popular soda fountain dress, so I think that would be a good option. I have another dress from there that's a little snug on the bewbs but not too much. Plus, the reviews now let you put your measurements so a lot of the time you can find someone around your size

^^definitely read the reviews because they are buying from different designers in order to get so many styles... there are some dresses that get really bad reviews about the material. Also they can help you decide if it will or won't work for your body type

^^^my bee, just made an observation because I shopped there before, I guess to stress that the reviews are more important on that site then other online stores I have purchased things from. Passive aggressive much?

Not trying to start anything, but this is seriously a pet peeve of mine, so I gotta say

What Erica said is not passive aggressive - she said it directly to you (as much as she can over a message board). Passive agreesive would be to say something like "boy do I hate it when people say the same thing you do and act like they were the first person to say it" or something similar.

Anyway, I tried curling my hair with a straightener and it didn't work

well, I guess it was my mistake for interpreting like that... sorry to "steal thunder" from samwise . I never thought that I came up with that myself. It is not like I insulted diva or something, I was just pointing out that it was unnecessary to bring it up considering that everyone else ignored it. If it had been just that one comment, then I would have thought oops, and moved on. I only brought it up because when she directs posts at me they are usually pretty passive aggressive. She has already said she thinks I am annoying.oh well

I feel amazon has made it way too easy to buy shit. It's like 3 clicks and done. Also, I have yet to go to an actual store for Christmas shopping, mainly because I live in a small town. However, I've enjoyed avoiding the crowds.

Ladies, I need some serious help with my hair.

It's wavy when I let it dry naturally, but terribly frizzy. I would like to find a way to wear it so I can just let it air dry, and have it look wavy and frizz-free.

Are there any products or techniques you can recommend to help me accomplish this? My hair is fairly thick, so anything you can recommend that would cut down on the volume would be helpful as well!

Do you shampoo every day? Le thing I have found is to not shampoo but condition every day, and I do love Aveda products... Their be curly stuff dos a good job of keeping frizz down

^^^^ I have this exact same problem! Aveda makes this smoothing serum that is AWESOME. You can put it on wet hair and let it air dry or on already dry hair. Just a tiny dab works your entire head. It's kind of pricey but lasts a long time and worth it. You should be able to buy it at any of the Aveda salons around or the Institute in Chapel Hill.
