^^Probably not, but he didn't really hesitate to say he'd rather play with Purvis than anyone at that tournament. That plus having Lewis and Brown to get him the ball should make us an attractive place for most anyone in the 2013 class.

i don't understand why TG had to take back his commit...why not just stay committed through the non-signing period and try again before the next signing period?

seems like TG was just embarrassed - he should not have come public with anything until he knew (hindsight is 20/20 obviously - feel bad for the kid)

Did you read the article? The news stations with the information weren't supposed to break it until that night. Shortly after they broke it anyway, NCSU told Graham that his commitment couldn't be accepted. So likely the university had all the information ready and were just waiting to tell Graham to hold off on the verbal, but some douchebag news outlet ran the story early, and they were forced to be like, "ehhhh, about that."

My only real gripe against PI is that their proof-reader (if he does in fact exist) appears to be dyslexic. Other than that, I can't blame them for what they are. Its just a couple of State fans trying to run a blog. So far they've done OK. I'll go there pretty often just to see what they've dug up.

I still don't get this either... seem to remember Brown committing in 2008 - and NCSU keeping his commit even though he didnt qualify and had to JUCO a year. Why not do something like this for TG?

This is spot on. It's not his numerical grades or entrance exam test scores that are they issue. NC State screws a lot of kids that transfer from community colleges in this way as well.

I've heard this comparison, and the common response is that Brown didn't know he wasn't going to qualify. He actually thought he was fine on graduating with a successful GPA, but he had one teacher his last semester gave him a D for too many absences that costed him the ability to meet NCAA requirements (She dropped him a grade letter unexpectedly for the absences, he statistically passed the class). That came completely out of the blue. The staff was also completely done with recruiting when this issue arose

Graham has a lot more catching up to do, apparently. I think the worry is that we take Graham as a commitment with the idea of placing him at Hargrave, and it might hurt us with...say Andrew White wants to switch....or some SG wants to commit for next year but knows we're bringing in Torian. Wouldn't want to scare him off and Torian never qualify. They want to wait and re-evaluate Graham's feelings when he will qualify, and if there's a spot for him and he wants to be here, then we'll take him And lets face it...we need help now.

Not sure it's the best logic in the world, but I've heard that's (allegedly) why we're hesitant to do that.
