i switched to DISH back in October, so i only kept TWC for internet. back in October when i cancelled all my cable, the TWC lady tried to upgrade my internet. i ended up with 3 free months of the Turbo internet option. supposedly it's a higher tier of internet. yeah, whatever, it's free and it got her off the phone. well, this month is when that free Turbo internet runs out. i just called to cancel it.

i said to the guy, "i'm just calling to cancel the Turbo internet on my account."

without hesitation, he offered me the Turbo internet free for the next 3 months.

so i guess i'll call back in May and tell them i wanna cancel. again.

Heh. LesaBenz, you had much better luck with TWC than I had last night. I alternated between the phone and chat with them from 7pm until 11pm.

I'm headed there for a face-to-face at 9am.


Long story short, they gave me one rate, I got "disconnected" in the middle of setting it up, and when i called back, that rate had changed... by 10 bucks a month, granted, but it was still bullshit that they went back on their deal.

Luckily, the first rate they gave me was with a sales chat agent, and I saved the conversation, so it's all there - he offered, i accepted, and we began the process of setting it up.

Just gotta go in this morning and see if they'll actually honor the deal. Should get interesting.

my dad has been having a lot of issues with TWC. he is always telling me how he's constantly calling them because they keep trying to raise his rates every few months. we just moved and switched to verizon fios - i like it so far.....much faster which makes working from home a much easier endeavor.
