^lol, you are obviously retarded. No where have I badmouthed the recruit. I said I thought it would be best to stay away from his family. Are you disputing that there is obviously something odd with the family? His brother transfers from school to school to school....now he has committed and de-committed from the same school twice. So how is it that I am bad-mouthing a recruit and how is it that I need to get my facts straight? Am I not just putting the facts out there?

oh man, I'm sorry, I werent aware that you were on a close personal relationship with torian and his family that allowed you to stereotype him and his entire clan based on the actions of his brother. excuse me mr. friend of the graham family

and how is it you still dont understand that the second decommitment was not his choice? if he had his druthers he would be playing for us and none of this would have happened

lol. ok buddy, what would you call it? His family made him pull his commitment? So how would that go against ANYTHING that I have said?

The only thing I have said is that I would stay away from this family. I don't know a damn thing about them...but one kid transferring schools numerous times, and the other kid committing, de-committing, committing, being made to de-commit...as i've said, I would stay away from the family.

^whatever dude. I'm just stating my opinion that with the trail this family has left through both of their kids, I would be happy if my alma mater just left them alone. Nothing more, nothing less. Good Day.

Quote :
"After we lost in the Beach Ball Classic we went down to North Carolina a day early. I had planned to go down there anyway, but since we weren’t playing anymore we decided to go early and visit N.C. State. I had a great time there with Coach (Mark) Gottfried and Coach (Orlando) Early.

Most of the students weren’t there but those fans still packed the place out. One fan made a really cool sign saying how bad he wanted me to come to State. Just stuff like that was pretty cool to see.

I got a chance to sit down with Coach Gottfried and his message was really simple. He just kept saying “We want you.” He talked about the ways they’d use me there and I liked that he came across really direct.

My boy Rodney Purvis came out to the game with me and that’s always fun to hang out with him. We’re real tight and we had a great time together. I know he wants me to come join him there at State.

That night after I left I went over to Duke and talked with Coach K (Mike Krzyzewski) for a good little while. It was a great talk about a lot of different things.

We ended up practicing at Cameron Indoor Stadium that night around 10 p.m. and we had a great time just being on that court. I felt really comfortable playing there and I swear I didn’t miss hardly any shots. It was similar to the way I felt when I was at North Carolina practicing for the Beach Ball Classic.

I was making a lot of shots. So the fact that I couldn’t miss at either Duke or UNC won’t make my decision any easier, Ha ha.

The next morning I went to UNC’s shoot around because they had a game that afternoon. It was cool just to be there and see their routine.

I got a chance to sit down and talk to Coach (Roy) Williams and that’s always fun. He just reiterated how much they wanted me there and he said he was gonna give me the highest praise he could give a high school player by telling me that I work as hard as Tyler Hansbrough did on the court.

I know Tyler was a great player so to be compared to him was awesome. I like Coach Williams’ approach. He doesn’t call all the time, he gives me space and he always says he’d much rather talk to me in person. Coach Williams is just a really cool guy.

I came back later for the game and that was fun. The fans were different there. They were really in to their team, but in a different way. It was really loud and really live. It was really interesting to see how different the fan bases were.

I had a great time at the game. It’s hard not to be impressed with UNC and its fans.

I ended up leaving at halftime to get to Duke for the start of their game. That place wasn’t just packed, it was sold out. Of course their place is smaller, but that place is just crazy.

If I had to compare the environments, I’d have to say that Cameron is the most live. It’s so true what people say about that place and this is with the students not even being there. It was just insane. It’s another level. They chanted my name so loud and their fans knew all about me. I was just like wow.

After the game I got the chance to sit down with Coach K again and we had a long talk. He gave me so many things to think about like getting lower and wider in my stance and being in great -- not good -- shape and how much that could help me.

He showed me clips of LeBron James when he was with Team USA and how they worked with him on getting lower and how much that helped him. I have started using that these past couple games, and I can already tell the difference in how I’m playing.

That night when we got to the hotel I felt like getting some shots up so I ended up going to UNC since my hotel was right near the campus. I shot around with Kendall Marshall and James McAdoo and we had a good time there at the gym.

Kendall took me to his room after that and showed me the famous shoe collection that I hear so much about. I’ve got to tell you all, it definitely lives up to the hype! It made me want to get my shoe game together immediately. That’s the first thing I wanted to do after seeing his shoes was come home and get my shoe game up, Ha ha.

I left that next morning.

All in all, I had a great time in North Carolina visiting all three of those schools. Loved the weather and everything about that area. I may get back down there to see the Duke-North Carolina game. I can only imagine that atmosphere."

This is the only part that irks me. But then again, Purvis is his boy. I think that puts us in just as good of a standing. I don't see him picking Duke.

Duke just offered Amile Jefferson. Apparently it is the offer he was waiting for. I don't know what to think now about where he lands. Clearly now UK, Duke, and NCState are the 3.

*His dad is apparently influencing him to pursue Duke

the guys we got were remarkable for where our program is and for Gott's first year. I think if we show that we can get to the tournament we'll get a lot more guys of that caliber. Right now, it's a gamble for a young kid to come to our program vs one that is a perennial success and gets all the national hype that the kids want for college - and more importantly - for the NBA.

we're going in the right direction but it will just take a bit more time. Keeping CJL should be more of a focus right now.

The guys we got are remarakable for any program, for any coach (that's why it's a top3 class).

But we're going to be pretty thin up front in 2014 if we don't get a big guy in this class, or a blue-chipper in 2014.

i'm ecstatic about our class next year...a big man would be great, but I think we may be OK for one more year...especially if somehow CJL stays. Big man needs to be our focus for the next 2 years

if we keep CJL next year we'll be pretty set to make the tournament. if we can keep him two years, I think we could make a really deep run.

^^I meant it's remarkable that we got them into our program as it stands, but yes, they are definitely an asset to any team.

^There's not a lot to the update. Basically, Duke is in the mix now (so is KY, Nova, UConn, State) and a decision could come soon. According to the update we seem to still be in pretty good shape. The article doesn't mention him leaning one way or having a favorite at this point.

I think we've got a chance, just because we have Rodney Purvis. I wonder if Warren and Lewis have any sort of friendship with Randle. Purvis and Lewis have been huge recruiters so far, and if Purvis is really tight with Randle he's gotta be in his ear bigtime

whoever said that Duke was the offer Amile has been waiting on......where do you get your info?

Amile's dad said that NC State has been on Amile the hardest and the best since his recruitment has started. When asked who was left on Amile's list, his dad said: "Definitely NC State. And Nova, Duke, Kentucky, etc" We're still there, very much in it

^rivals premium.

i definitely think State is still in it big time...i was just saying Duke is now in pretty strong consideration. THey had recruited him early, then backed off and didn't offer, and now they are on him again. His dad, from everything I read, likes Duke a lot because the school atmosphere is a similar to his high school (something along those lines).

Unfortunately I think this is one of the cases where if it weren't for the parent, Amile would have already been committed to State.

Not good news about Amile for sure.

However, he's not a make or break recruit for this program and the fact we are competing with duke just shows how far we have come.

We are about to land a lot of monster classes if we make the tournament this year and are a top 25 program next year

fast forwarding to 2013...I didn't know this, but Nerlens Noel (one of the top rated players in the country, 5*, Rated #3 overall) is the younger brother of Rodman Noel (NCSU football freshman DB).

That could really impact him considering joining his brother in college.

*Unrelated note: Julius Randle dropped 50 points last night

yup, Nerlens' name has been thrown around some. Actually page 244 of this thread. He'd be a great pickup, but I'm not counting on it.

And I don't know that his brother being here affects him that much. Yeah, there are brothers that go to college together that you hear about, but there are tons of them that don't.

Right now, in the 2014 season, after Howell and Painter are gone, TDT and Harris (and maybe, maybe Leslie) will be our only "big men". It does look like Vandenberg may RS this year, so he'd might still be around in 2014.

So it'd be nice to get a big guy in the 2013 class, so he'd have some experience come 2014. Or either get a complete stud in 2014 who's ready to contribute immediately.
