Probably the wrong place to ask, but I apparently lost all my T Rex cd's this weekend and I wanna know if any of you have any of the Slider, Electric Warrior or T Rex albums that you'd be willing to lemme get ahold of...

i know this is 2007 but I listened to pretty much nothing but "in rainbows" this past weekend on a big out of town trip I was on and I really love it now. For some reason I couldnt get into it that much last year. But that has happened to other records for me in the past. I like them but dont love them, put them down for like 6+mos and then I come back to them and fall in love.

^^^In Rainbows just recently clicked with me after roughly 6 months of carrying it around on my iPod. Just in time for me to enjoy the hell out of their performance at Lollapalooza this past weekend.

well, i thought the album was kind of boring last year too. im not sure whether I just had the right environment this weekend or what but it just clicked and I had it on repeat the entire time.

in rainbows is great. i don't think it's boring, but then again, i also love the national who a lot of people seem to think are worse than watching paint dry. but yeah: especially with songs like 15 step, bodysnatchers, and jigsaw falling into place.

yea that song came on during one of the busiest parts of last week at the Boston subway during a pretty peak time, it was super packed and I thought it was an appropriate song as I forced my way through the crowds

that's my favorite album. period. not saying everyone will love it, but i certainly do. i guess it depends on your musical tastes (/captain obvious)

i loved the receiving end of sirens when he was in that band and when he left i quickly realized that it was him that made me like them so much. i was initially really upset about him leaving treos but that all went away when act I came out.

no i'm talking about THE DEAR HUNTER. i can't stand deerhunter.

ok here you go people:

The Dear Hunter - Random EP #2
hxxp://www.megaupload.com/?d=EW1VHH80

1. Battesimo del Fuoco
2. Untitled Soul Song
3. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (Elton John Cover)
4. Smiling Swine
5. The Church and the Dime
6. Red Hands

This is an EP with 4 alt versions of songs from the two Act albums, plus a b-side "Untitled Soul Song" and a cover of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". Definitely don't let this be your first exposure to The Dear Hunter though. if you want to check them out, i highly recommend Act II: The Meaning of & All Things Regarding Ms. Leading. I'm gonna upload that one now and post the link for anyone that wants to check it out. it came out in 2007 though. i just bought this random EP at the show last night.

^^nah, it's because you try to wittily call people out about getting a band name wrong, multiple times. you'd think our ignoring your first attempt at humor might clue you in, but alas.

here's act II

The Dear Hunter - Act II: The Meaning of & All Things Regarding Ms. Leading
hxxp://www.megaupload.com/?d=QT5UGQN2

1. The Death and the Berth
2. The Procession
3. The Lake and the River
4. The Oracles on the Delphi Express
5. The Church and the Dime
6. The Bitter Suite pt. 1 & 2 (Meeting Ms. Leading and Through the Dime)
7. The Bitter Suite pt. 3 (Embrace)
8. Smiling Swine
9. Evicted
10. Blood of the Rose
11. Red Hands
12. Where the Road Parts
13. Dear Ms. Leading
14. Black Sandy Beaches
15. Vital Vessle Vindicates

One of the coolest things about The Dear Hunter in my opinion is that all the songs go together to tell a story, almost like a book. The lyrics from Act II all tie into Act I. I talked to Casey after the show last night and he said Act III is already in the works and should be due out sometime around Jan/Feb. And apparently in addition to the Act albums he's working on another nine albums each one inspired by a different color from the color spectrum. Pretty interesting. Oh and I love how scrumples immediately tries to dismiss The Dear Hunter as being emo when he clearly has never heard of them.

it's not just a concept album. it's six all tied together. there's going to be 6 act albums all tied together to tell the story. you can't tell me that shit happens all the time. i realize concept albums are not uncommon, but i don't think it's quite often that the concept spans several albums like they're planning to do.
