Werewolves are far stronger fighters than humans.
And they can walk around in daylight.
Which means they are the perfect tool to protect his compound during the day when they're all asleep.
And they can presumably carry out deeds for him during the day that can never be pinned to him since he is a vamp.

well obviously the ones he's been employing in the current timeline are only good at drinking and fucking, but eric's stories about the wolves suggest he has a particularly inept group working for him now

Yeah, all the talk of werewolves being strong and badass was all complete horseshit.

Also, no one mentioned Terry. What a great character he is when Arlene said the baby wasn't his and he still want her to keep it and raise it as his own. What a guy.

^Yeah, Terry is a cool character. He even was super elated when the doc said the baby was still OK after Arlene's incident.

His response, "you're gonna hate yourself for saying that" to Sam calling him a "shellshocked mother fucker" was pretty badass considering how insulting that is.

Still hate slut-bag Tara, awful actress, worse character.

Yeah, the whole shit over Eggs is ridiculous.

Complete disconnect from reality. Regardless of Eggs true personality, he was a psyco zombie when Jason shot him. He had to go. He was about to kill Andy.

Yeah, I don't see what would have been so bad about telling the whole truth in regard to that situation. Eggs attacked Andy with a knife. Jason fired to protect a cop from a guy with a weapon who was not in his right state of mind. End of story.

Tara would be sad. Big whoop. What's new.

yeah i'm not real sure about the eggs/tara situation. i have a hard time grasping how she's so upset over it. they didn't have much of a real relationship considering they were beady eyed and fucking the whole time. and that was only for what? a few weeks? and man, the town sure recovered quickly from the damage of maryann.

I disagree...if anything for the reason that Russell isn't dead. Best villain they've had yet; killing him would've been a weak finale. Sookie finally knows the truth about Bill, Tara is skipping town (hear the choir singing? cause I sure as hell do), and Sam may or may not have just killed his brother (which for most of the season I didn't give a shit about his story, now I'm interested). Hoyt and Jessica are super cute (doom looms around the corner of course)...and Crystal is, for now, not sticking around to be with Jason (although I'm meh about what seems to be the future for Jason).

And all of Sookie at Fangtasia was excellent...I REALLY like that side of Sookie.

If it's the final 10 seconds you don't like, I'm looking past that...with everything else that just happened, nothing is ok by me.

I just feel like everything was resolved. There's small nuggets for next season, but not the big cliffhanger of S1 (S2's finale was way worse IMO). I'm satisfied with the whole thing.

^agree.

It wasn't a bad episode, but the way the last episode ended was much better for a finale. This one could have been executed so much better I thought. It also seemed like some of the episode dragged on - like with Jason and the DEA stuff/family.

That being said I'll give them some leeway, from what I understand this was going to be the last season originally and then they changed it, so perhaps things got changed last minute? (you guys know way better than I do)

I'm done. This season turned into complete harlequin romance novel trash (which I hear is what the books basically are). Don't care about any of the characters or plots, so not looking forward to another season. The acting is also painful. The same thing happened with heroes.

More like fucking dumbasses ITT now.

If you couldn't tell that Hoyt's mom was up to something (after they explicitly showed her BEING UP TO SOMETHING) then you should probably stick to shows that require a little bit less thinking. I hear Jersey Shore is all the rage with the morons these days.

Everything was resolved?

Sam shoots his brother and you don't know if he hits him/kills him, Bill and the Queen start a fight, Sookie walks off with the Faeries, Hoyt's mom is getting ready to go hunting, the gay nurse just admitted he was a gay witch nurse - I think there were a lot of cliffhangers.

However i also think that episode was a giant flaming turd. It was a terrible season finale and had a ton of shitty production moments. Stuff like Eric's vampire (cant remember her name) saying she had concrete in her hair after the dude tried to kill her.. did he try and kill her the same way as Bill tried to kill Eric? And the vampire fight scene at the end was stupid as hell.

uhh...no she had cement in her hair because she's the one that saved Eric from the pit.

How else did you think he got out of there?

Of course I'm aware she's 'up to something.' I was not aware this resulted in 'DOOM,' presumably for the couple in question.

Not that I care much about spoilers ever.

if you think that predicting doom for a happy couple on this show constitutes a spoiler, you aren't as smart as I originally gave you credit for.

I assumed she had read the books and was stating facts.

plenty could happen with that storyline that is not "doom"

According to wikipedia Hoyt's arc is much different from that in the book. So your assumption was wrong.

But yeah, you're right I'm sure next season will revolve mainly around Hoyt and Jessica picking out furniture for their new house and maybe getting a dog. And I'm sure Hoyt's mom was just buying that gun for protection now that Hoyt isn't living with her.

Nothing even resembling "doom" ever happens on this show anyway. Especially not to every character in the show.

not even talking about hoyt's mom getting strapped...I'm talking about the creepy baby doll lying on the ground in the next room and the music tempo change as they celebrate their cute little home.
Also, Jessica isn't even in the books so don't get your panties in a wad.

I feel that everything that was going on for the season has been resolved and those are the little nuggets for next season...they aren't huge cliffhangers, no. But I guess the best way to explain that is as a book reader (which again this season diverged a lot from book 3...A LOT) I'm coming from a different place. The important things for me for the finale are
Quote :
"Russell isn't dead....Sookie finally knows the truth about Bill"

I've been doing a lot of head smacking this season when it pertains to the soap opera aspect of the show, and was particularly angry at the end of last season's...this made up for that.

I'm supposed to guess that because the mother is buying a gun the jessica/hoyt relationship WILL end very badly? because that's pretty much what 'doom' means.

Although if my 'assumption is wrong' then this is all moot and we are both spinning our wheels.

Jesus christ.

^cool.

And this season finale was fine.

It's refreshing for a series to not wrap up all of the season's stories like so many do(i.e. dexter), but to keep them going.

I don't understand why you want things resolved at the end of a season.

Self contained television seasons are starting to bore me.

The Breaking Bads and True Bloods are prevailing.

True Blood is intentionally deceivingly good.

So any ideas as to what was with the creepy doll in Hoyt and Jessica's house? Is the house haunted or something silly like that?

Also, who did Bill send to kill Pam? If there was even a doubt in his mind that Pam would win, why wouldn't he go and help kill her himself? It should have been pretty obvious to him that if Pam lived she would have saved Eric and now Eric is gonna be after Bill.

Tara's new hair looks stupid. I wish Franklin would have killed her. Her damn lip was quivering the entire time she was cutting her hair.

Eric is not after Bill, he said he 'gave him a fate worse than death' which apparently means 'get his girlfriend mad at him'. An absolute pussy move for someone who just betrayed you, tried to kill you, and then tried to have your prodigy killed. But that is par for the course with this show now apparently.

Also, Crystals Dad actually gets his head blown off this time and she doesn't even cry, she just says goodbye to Jason and hops in the truck. What a fucking horrilbe storyline. They completely wasted one of the more entertaining characters (Andy) with that arc.

With the long goodbye to Sookie I was hoping Tara was going to actually die, not just drive off.

Could not care less about how they have somehow made Lafayette a complete pussy; or his loser witch buddy. That entire arc reeked of 'we don't know wtf to do with Lafayette since we didn't kill him off, I know lets have gay lover scenes so we can be edgy!'. If they make him a witch, it will end badly.

Russel went out like a chump; with laughable makeup the entire episode.

Somehow they made Sookie even more of a complete fucking idiot; her actions made very little sense. Hopefully the Klingon beamed her up somewhere she wont come back from.

Don't care about the voodoo shit that Hoyte and Jessica are going to have to deal with; or his cow Mom.

Sam didn't shoot his brother; it was a horrible arc that could have actually been cool but they drug it out too long and didn't know a good way to resolve or progress it.

Werewolves? hahaha what a fucking joke.

A lot of people in this thread are excellent at confusing their desire for this show to be good with what they are actually seeing on tv and then rationalizing it.

Oh yeah on the topic of Crystal... they made it such a huge deal that she was leaving... seriously she's a fucking were-jaguar... what's to stop her from just turning into a jaguar the second the guy's guard is down and ripping him to shreds with claws/teeth? Or even just jumping out the fucking window of the truck while in jaguar form. That was pretty stupid.

Agreed w/ Lokken on pretty much every point. Eric should have ripped Bill's head off the instant Sookie kicked him out of the house.

Eric was able to call for Pam because Pam she was his progeny and they can telepathically communicate or something. Does Russell have no other progeny he could call to bail him out of the concrete?

And yes, the eye fucking line was the best part of the episode.

This was the season finale. Otherwise, why bother having seasons to begin with? Just make it one big long weekly soap opera with no breaks and no resolution to anything ever. True Blood = Days Of Our Lives

This episode would have been average at best for the 6th episode of the season.
