Haha, that's just retarded. The kid who they were supposed to have given benefits to never even played a game. Ineffective troll (or was it?).
You can hate on Calhoun all you want and hate on shitbags like Marcus Williams, but the players on this team did nothing wrong. Actually most of them seem to be good, coach-able kids... including Kemba.

UConn being in the finals is going to be annoying. All the Big East fans are going to come out from hiding again and talk about how UConn being number 9 in the Big East and making to the tournament finals proves they are the best conference. 4/3/2011 2:12:36 AM |

^^ Unfortunately, the UConn women's fanbase is quite large. As large as the mens, and they split the fanbase up. Just the way it works. I hate it.

That's actually not true. I hate Marcus Williams for what he did. Never have rooted for him to this day. I think Jim Calhoun absolutely deserves any penalty he gets, even if his role in the Miles saga is unclear at best. He has done other shady, not necessarily illegal, things (Beltway Ballers for example). I like him because I know what he did for UConn and what he does for the state of Connecticut, charity-wise especially. I also know he got too overzealous after he won big. I simply don't think he is any worse than 99% of other coaches in the country who simply haven't gotten caught.
That said, the Miles situation can't lead to any vacated games. Period. It can't. He never played. He never officially practiced. They couldn't have played with an ineligible player since he never played! And he is a broke loser trying to make a buck right now. I mean that much is pretty clear.

More thoughts regarding Barkley:
He is a no BS type of commentator, which makes for some cold hard facts thrown out pretty bluntly. I like this kind of attitude because pro athletes (not the college ones durh) are getting millions to play, and if they are acting/playing foolish then they deserve to be called out.
Second, he does have some sense. He does make good points.
Overall I have enjoyed these NBA guys over the Bilas/Vitale people. They do make some lolerific mistakes sometimes, like saying ex-zavier for Xavier, but overall they are more blunt and to the point. 4/3/2011 10:20:04 AM |

kinda mad that i paid what i did for the tickets i have as a package deal for both sessions (like, 95% face), when a friend of mine just got like 20th row for ~20% face value.
silly me. we'll move down to wherever we can get.
just embarrassing for uconn having like 10% of their student section filled.
side note: reliant was pretty epic fail for concessions. how are you going to run out of like 90% of the food and all soda cups before half time of the first game?

it's next to the old astrodome ( srly, the place is nasty) and there's a light rail that connects the two ball park areas.
saturday i parked at a bar i like within sight of minute maid, had some drinks, went to the concerts, rode the train to the games, rode the train back, had a few drinks, went home. the parking at reliant was $25/day... so.. street park for free + free rail ride in... worth it.
it's not difficult.
im not defending it's location, but they have all the practice facilities there, and all the livestock bullshit that they use for rodeo houston. that takes a lot of space and is the biggest tourist draw for the year. that shit lasts like four weeks, it's absurd.
