I can only travel so fast on numb feet. I'm going to have a hard time doing anything around here without a high-tech continuous glucose monitoring system. I wish they would get this shit together for my pump sooner, rather than later. I'll pay cash for it as well. Who needs two grand a year? I want to be able to feel my feet for more often than 12 continuous hours.

^^^^^ Being a diabetic is a bitch. I can't manage my glucose by myself without either cutting all carbs out of my diet (food that is low in or has no carbs can be a bit expensive/difficult to deal with), or by having better technology or carb counting to get the insulin amounts correct to treat my diabetes.

As is I'm basically taking shots in the dark and sticking to unhealthy food which relies heavily upon manufacturing for its creation, as that sort of food tends to have more accurate nutrition facts on the cover. So in exchange for semi-decent carb counting and moderate cost, I'm basically costing myself my blood pressure and still suffering periodical loss of sensation in my fingers and feet (both of which are tingling a bit right now). It's gay and I hate it.

I'll be quite fortunate if my new health insurance company (BCBS, only it's for federal employees) will cover the cost of a continuous glucose monitoring system. As it is emerging technology, it's not cheap. Insurance companies, however, are quite cheap and will just tell me I can't get something, even if it would mean having sensation in my fucking fingers and toes.

Cliff's notes: Without a continuous glucose monitor, I won't be feeling my fingers and toes any time soon and I'll have shitty blood pressure to boot. I can't keep my control as tight as I need to in order to prevent my fingers/toes from going numb, and new foods will consistently lead to me being ill from hyper-/hypo- glycemic problems.
