I based this variant of my old Facebook pic on a color scheme proposed by Albert Henry Munsell a little over a century ago (specifically, the use of five primaries), except that I started by making the yellow primary specifically the one at sRGB hue angle 60 and made the secondaries and other primaries equally spaced apart in HSV; then I used Kuler to change the lightness, keeping each color maximally saturated, so that its luminosity in CIELAB space was 50.
The primaries each use the same amount of space, and the secondaries each use the same (smaller) amount of space; I decided to send pink and purple to the triangles to symbolize the short shrift given to them in society, ever-present yet on the margins.
