When I was pre-teenage I couldn't breathe without my parents knowing the exact coordinates of my location. What's up with parents these days?

If they tell their kids they can't do something, their kids might not like them. Can't have that.

"I don't understand why people are protesting Victoria Secret...apparently the line they came out with that is aimed to a younger crowd is making parents afraid their preteen daughters into sluts...
I think it's just parents trying to have another excuse to not be blamed.."I didn't want my little girl wearing a thong but Victoria Secret made me drive her there and buy it for her"

Jeez people...take some responsibility for your own actions"

I also don't understand. specifically b/c most of the complaints i see they are saying VS is targeting middle school girls. I see VS saying the 15-18 yr old market which is hs, sophmores and up. girls that age most certainly do wear thongs. granted thong song was pretty darn popular back then as well...so i blame sisqo

people that market this know what they're doing, but like you i think parents can simply refuse to buy them. in general, i find the writing and print on the bottoms of underwear and pants trashy. and i think the name of the line sucks--"pretty little things" blah.

It's certainly a crappy idea to target young children with marketing, but no one seems to get up in arms with all the sodas and candy and other crap being targeted toward our children

Actually, yeah, there are a lot of people pissed about that.

I don't think disallowing children from wearing a certain type of underwear would make them dislike their parents necessarily. If so, there are probably other issues at play.

I think it's cool they have offerings for the younger set. Back in the day, there wasn't really anything fun for girls; it was just like black lace and satin, and you felt like you were playing dress up--pretending to be sexy.

That said, I can see how this "cuter" stuff does blatantly appeal to perverts, but that's not what the moms are upset about. They're upset that VS is providing a space for their daughters to express themselves (and making an enormous amount of money on it). I don't think the mothers realize that forcing their daughters to wear something else is an even worse thing to do to them.

We are not sorry. We rejoice!

Seriously.

Ok. The story.
While I was a good agent based on my scores by other agents (meaning I was polite, I empathized, i built rapport), according to the company I was actually contracted and trained to work for, I did not meet their metrics. Now. This company sent their billing to India in January, and sent their hardware And chat just two weeks ago. The writing was on the wall that my department was next. If they hadn't already been sending their stuff overseas, I think I would have been ok. But some of my customer surveys, which mean more, were low. Granted my only low scores were bc people were upset at the process or their account being banned, this company did not take that in to consideration and let me go. I had already dealt with scheduling problems, so overall I'm happy. It was an inevitable situation that while good for awhile, im happy to say good riddance.

Also, only fired from the company I was contracted with, not the one that actually sends my paycheck. I can apply for another job with them

Bc I am awesome

thanks. I walked since I was drinking...but the last half mile or so of my walk there is never anyone out so I feel a little sketched out walking by myself after drinking. I really should start calling a cab for the trip home if I'm out by myself.

I've been living in/around DC for so long, I've forgotten what it's like to not have the subway to get around. Or easily accessible cabs

haha yeah

I should just wait for a cab (I'm working in Gboro on a project for the time being) but I get impatient since I'm only a mile from my apartment here and the cabs aren't abundant.

I HAD AN INTERVIEW YESTERDAY AND IT WAS AWESOME. Actually 4, and all together (interviews, tour, brief lunch) lasted about four hours. So dead at the end of the day. This week oh god. I don't have time to be dead.

Les Miserables--wouldn't rent on Apple TV
So! Since I like torturing myself...I'm watching Bully.

I read that as Buffy at first. Apparently I'm tired

I debated starting the 5th season of Mad Men, but since I'm scatter-brained and doing lots of things right now I just put on a full deftones concert in the background since I don't have to actually watch it.

yay! I haven't seen it yet obviously. I've been waiting to watch it with Catherine because we usually watch stuff together but we have too much stuff to watch/catch-up on together and I don't want to spend all my time when I am home watching TV haha. So maybe I should pick a couple things to just watch on my own up here.

PS yes we rewatched buffy over all of last year when there wasn't something else we felt like watching.
