applied to a job last week.
today, received rejection email.
sent message to provided email requesting constructive criticism on application.
immediately receive "I will no longer be employed by the University after April 30" message in response.

i'm assuming the company failed to stop forwarding messages to this guy... wonder how many emails are piled up... i think i'll call them to inform them of the issue just in case...

^^^ lol no. the company i was applying to forwarded messages sent to the generic address i was given to this guy. he doesn't work there anymore, but messages are still being delivered to his account. kinda sucks because people who are using said address have messages being delivered to a ghost. rather useless.

Friday June 28th is the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots that really helped launch the gay rights movement in the late 60s and they are the reason for June being Pride month. My understanding is that modern Pride parades began with and evolved from the equal rights marches that started annually commemorating that date in June. It's cool to see that it still a gathering site for LGBT equality advocacy and celebration in light of the Supreme Court rulings.

has anyone paused to think that this thread is over 3000 pages long? most legislation that gets to congress is significantly shorter than that.

it has also (probably) been reviewed by people paying attention to its contents far more often than the above...

well I was gonna say, a "page" of internet babble =/= a page in a printed document with paragraphs and proper spacing/punctuation.

but I guess they're pretty comparable, actually. the previous page contained about 1000 words (excluding usernames) which is actually a lot of text cram onto a single-paged document in Word.

So yeah, I guess ITT we've composed significantly more text than goes into a Congressional bill.

on the other hand, this is really conversation, not composition. think about how epically long a record of your conversations over the past 3 years would be. then reflect that this isn't even just one conversation, but a continuous slew of random, aspergian reflections which are often not even answered or acknowledged. I do like this thread, though, very much.

a guy called me at work tonight and sang dirty songs/rap lyrics to me, and since we aren't allowed to hang up on customers i had to sit there and listen until he stopped....but secretly i put him on mute and was dying laughing the whole time

years ago my golden retriever had paralyzed back legs out of nowhere. we took her to the vet and they couldnt figure out what was wrong. brought her home and i inspected her back area. found a cow tick on her. researched it and they cause paralysis in cows and sheep ultimately resulting in death. i pulled if off with the needlenose pliers and she was back to normal in 5 minutes.
