skwinkle, you shouldn't have any trouble finding 8ks and 10ks. They are quite common all over the place. Just do some googling for it wherever you end up.

I was planning on trying to find a 10k. The motivation of signing up for a race doesn't quite work until you can actually sign up for a race, though. I can motivate myself fine to do most things, but running is not one of them.

That would be a good one. One of my good friends lived in Charleston the past few years and her husband and some friends ran it most years, despite never running otherwise. It impresses me that people can up and run races like that at a ~10 minute pace when they never run.

She invited me a few times, but that was when I was still terrified of doing races. Of course she moved back to Raleigh last weekend.

Do the MCM 10k in October or the Raleigh half in November. Both you have to travel to but oh well

MCM is the day after our wedding. We'd joked that we could head up that night and he could do the marathon and I'd do the 10K. But I think we'd probably regret that decision.

I must be the only person who would rather wake up as early as possible and workout/run early in the morning than wait until night

Now with my schedule though I have to do both on Mon, Wed, Fri's (weights in the morning, spin in the evening) and then run after work on tuesdays and thursdays (in case everyone wanted to know my info lol)
