I wonder what percentage of young Americans advance in their career year after year vs how many start a career but then just stay in the same place/role vs how many can't even get a career off the ground

^^^^ Not a script :3
I can't wait to see how it turns out.

So, I left for a walk with a friend at around 11... Several hours and many talks later, we're trying to figure out how long we've been out walking, realizing that neither of us have our phones, and my feet are starting to hurt.
...we only recently got back to find out that we'd been gone for over two hours

bought a new pair of Chucks for the first time in about 12 years yesterday. Yes I still wear the 12-year-old pair occasionally, but they are nearly worthless as actual shoes anymore. I did not want to pay what they charge for new Chucks these days though, especially for a shoe I only wear occasionally.

However, I randomly found 1 pair of them on the clearance rack at Marshall's yesterday. In my size. In the color I wanted. $15.

^^ Yeah they aren't always the best for walking long distances or being on your feet a ton but for general use they are very comfortable to me; however I don't have the same issue you do with the flat feet :/

I have a couple "go-to" options when I want really low-profile shoes that aren't a slip-on and Chucks are one of them. My previous pair is literally falling apart though.

i've got a pair of grey low tops that i really like wearing with jeans in certain settings. they've always been a comfortable shoe to me, but i don't really wear them for super long periods.

same. My last pair was black. These are charcoal. Although, they didn't have laces, so they asked me what color laces I wanted and I went with some black ones instead of the default white.

That's a pretty bad business tactic.

I'm not actually buying a car. I am trying to buy a wedding band, but I'm pretty much stuck into buying one without being able to try on anything even remotely close to see if I like it. I understand why I'm forced into that situation, but that doesn't make it suck any less.

My other options are not buying one at all or buying one that doesn't really match. Apparently the only way to get a match is buying sight unseen. So I guess not technically forced as I'd still be deciding to do it, but I wish I could see my options before buying something I'll spend the rest of my life looking at.

We called the store in PA where he ordered the engagement ring, who called the designer. They were like "we don't have any photos, but it will be an exact match and fit the ring perfectly."

Sorry, that's not quite enough for me.

How is it his fault? He bought me a gorgeous ring. It's the designer's fault for not having a very good understanding that people like to see things before buying them.

just get the matching one, skwink. if it's really uncomfortable, you can always get a plain gold band later.

I'm assuming this is because they haven't made the ring yet? If that's the case, then you're just kind of SOL. Had a similar issue with the designer who made my fiancée's engagement ring. But he at least composed a sketch and sent me pictures of similar rings (almost a, "this ring will be a combination of these two rings" type deal).

We got a different jeweler/designer to do the wedding band...and they're just going to "match" the engagement ring. This person is my fiancée's mom's jeweler...so apparently they trust her enough to say..."here's the check, ship the ring when you're done."

I guess it depends on how much you trust the person doing your ring. If they also did the engagement ring that you love, I don't see why you shouldn't trust them to do the band. You should, however, have a little bit of wiggle room in regards to alterations and such if it doesn't meet your expectations.

They haven't. But the engagement ring is a design offered by Ritani, rather than a custom job. And they already have a design set up for the matching wedding band. The part I don't understand is how they sell matching sets without expecting anyone to ever ask "so what does the band actually look like?"

I do love my ring, and I'm sure the matching band will look great. My only real reservation is that I am not always a matchy-matchy person, nor am I a very bling-oriented person, so I don't want it to end up being too much diamond-wise. I have small hands, and the e-ring is already pretty big.

Before someone says "so just get a plain band," yes, I could. I might end up getting both. I am not trying to sound like I am throwing a temper tantrum or making a big deal about this, but people keep asking questions so I am still talking about it.

And the jeweler in PA is baller. All the others we have been to basically say "you'll have to get a custom ring, and if you don't like it, tough" but they are legitimately trying as hard as they can to track down details and a photo or sketch or something at least.
