did anybody see the "recruiting video" for bin ladin's group? or the videos showing Taliban punishment. a woman who cheated on her husband was taken into a soccer stadium DURING A STOPPED SOCCER GAME, and shot through the head with an assault rifle by a government police/military person. this is the kind of "law" that is enforced by these people. we should punish bin ladin according to his own laws...

Man last night I was so tired and I turned on the tv b/c I fall asleep to it every night...I ended staying up crying for a few hours b/c I was listening to all those stories of family members talking about someone missing. I lost it when that poor man was on saying how he was late for work that day b/c it was his little boys first day of school, I lost it when that young lady said she was layed off on Monday from her job at the WTC and then lost her boyfriend and all friends to it on Tuesday, I lost it again when a hospital employee (nurse or doctor) said that every time an injured person came in she would see a similar haircut as her fiances hoping he would come in, but he never came in and still had not been found. It was so sad but I had to keep on watching....

Damn. I'm glad that somebody thought to pull all the planes out of the sky early on. It could've been worse. I want to hear about some arrests though. The hijacking that was allegedly going to happen on a flight from Newark yesterday turned out being a coincidence. The "pilot" really was a pilot, had the license of his brother and displayed it by accident to officials. The whole incident at Newark yesterday was just due to nerves.

I'm still happy about it though. Our security is so tight that you can't even exhibit behavior that remotely suggests hijacking. Good stuff.

if u look at a topographical map, most of the border runs through mountainous terrain, so they know its next to impossible, but they are trying anyway and will at least be able to get some areas shut down.

another interesting thing, a WW2 vet was asked about Pearl Harbor, and he mentioned that the Japanese attacked on a SUNDAY, when nobody was in offices and stuff....

300 firefighters missing, in some cases entire companies lost.

no survivors found since wednesday...there is an interesting development...Lucent Technologies has talked to the rescue teams, they can trace any cell phones/pagers/etc. that people trapped may have. they have a number to call if you know the cell/pager number of anyone missing, they can call the phone/pager/etc. and Lucent can trace it, try to find the locations of them and help get rescuers to the areas where there are likely to be people, i think verizon might be involved too.

Was on CNN awhile ago, but apparently the northern army in Afghan. whom are against the Taliban are begging the US to fight with them ... so we do have some intelligence on the inside. Although their leader was assassinated one day before the US was attacked, but they still have a strong army of over 1500 men. Good news I guess.

I think we should let the Northern Alliance do the dirty work. Before we ally with them, though, we should see what their plans would be if they overthrew the Taliban. Would they improve human rights in Afghanistan? For example, no more opressive rule based on a strict interpretation of the Koran. If their efforts were sincere, and they would make Afghanistan a free country for its citizens and banish all terrorist forces(i.e. turnover Bin Laden and his goons), I would support funding for the Northern Alliance. We have to make sure they are 100% towards improving Afghanistan, as it backfired when the U.S. funded the rebels fighting off the Soviets in the 80s, which later on became the ruling Taliban.
