Here's an article with mild spoilers about tonight's episode. The overall consensus about it is that it's a pretty solid episode.

This is a quote from Lost, the TV show I found amusing: "I find it a little odd that your scripture stick has dried blood on it" I'm ashamed to be watching this shit but it keeps stringing me along with it's rubic's cube rubric of faith-based fallacious foulplay and mysterious mishaps. It's ominous how faith shit is creeping into our jules verne ala matrix contact starwars... NVM there is a whole religious reference at the end of War of the Blue dots.

I really wonder what Jack won't tell Kate. And what the fuck, they're throwing out all these Hell/Purgatory storylines just to fuck with us now.

the writers have said before that the "hell/purgatory" theory isn't true, but they sure did try hard to push that theory in tonight's episode, also why hasn't there been a backstory on danielle yet, she just hangs out on the island by herself and pops up every now and then

with some of the other things the "others" have done, i would not put it past them to wreck the dad, and drug him and take him to the island....i thought the "magic box" thing was horseshit from day one, if that were true, they would just zap babies onto the island

^yeah, I'm glad they had Ben say, "The box is a metaphor!" on tonight's episode, to put to bed all of the irritating literal references and theories.

Glad to see that Kate can keep a secret...

And I'm not entirely convinced that Juliet (and Jack?) are bad here. It wouldn't surprise me if Juliet somehow double-crosses Ben and really joins the survivors, with Jack in on it. I still think they're being a little too shady, though.

yeah agreed, Why did Jack not want to tell katie, now they are just being stupid...
He should be more understanding about the fact that the rest of the beach still does not like the others and acknowledge their suspitions and fears instead of ignoring them.

I'd like to see the beach just dominate the others if they come looking for them. take them prisnor and finally get some stinkin answers!

I watched the preview for next week in slow motion....there are some weird things... a girl and guy in black/white, they look like ghosts or holograms or something....

and then there was a close up of "Roger Work Man" i remember that was the dead guy they found near the van...

i bet they were going to tell kate that no electronics work there due to the magnetic field or something...that phone is useless...or either the woman they found is lying

I'm curious if the woman who just dropped in (har) is in cahoots with Ben and this is another way to infiltrate the Losties.

^yeah, it's possible, and likely. However, why would they give us the backstory of Penny contracting a company to look for Desmond (the guys in the tent/shack monitoring instruments, then calling Penny)?

^^ to make it more believable to the Losties I think Desmond and Sayid would be the hardest to convince, so they're going for a really good story, and it's something that Desmond would want to believe, whether or not it's realistic

I also want to know how Ben and Co know that Sawyer shot a man, when he wasn't in his native country and didn't use a gun in his name. Ben wants people to think of him like he is the Great and Powerful Oz.

Also, do you think Ben will know that it wasn't Locke who killed his dad?

I don't know if Ben would care that Locke didn't do the deed himself, as long as he got it done...shows dedication and willingness to cooperate.

Also, I think Desmond is the key to getting off the island. He wasn't on the plane, so Ben and the others shouldn't have a file on him. Because of this, they also shouldn't know about Penny and her plan to find Desmond. That leads me to believe that this woman is actually legit. We've been dooped so much, I wouldn't be surprised if this woman is actually telling the truth. But we'll see.

I was thinking about this the other day. If Ben and the others don't know about Desmond that would be a HUGE plot hole, IMO. But not only that, I find it a little hard to believe that the others knew about, and populated every other darma station on the island, but left the most important one (that we know about) alone with "some guy" doing all the important work of pressing the button for 3 years. That seems like a huge risk to take on the others' part. If pressing the button really was such a big deal, I don't see why they wouldn't have had rotating teams in the swan station. The fact that Desmond existed alone for 3 years is a pretty big stretch to me, and one that I'm interested in seeing how the writers take care of.

The others came to the island, which was abandoned by the dharma initiative people. The others discovered Desmond in the hatch but decided not to screw with him since he was going to stay in there until his "replacement" came. Fast forward to the plane crash and the survivors blow open the hatch...now Desmond is a problem.

How did they try to push that? They blatantly dismissed it. Of course it might seem that way to him... he gets in an accident (probably caused by the Others/Dharma) they nab him and drug him. He wakes up on the island (hmm... sounds just like Juliet) and because he doesn't know about the Island's mysterious healing powers can't figure how the hell he's not still injured from his accident.

This is a nod to the fans who thought they had it figured out.... and like Sawyer said "Yeah right so we're all dead?"

And Jack is either hiding...
- Surprise, you're probably pregnant and going to die!
- Juliet is supposed to be a plant, but really we are going to double cross him.
- Ben told Jack more of the true nature of the Island and he knows the phone thing is worthless. He didn't even seem to care they had a satellite phone, just that people didn't trust him.

Besides the fact that that would be a lame twist, yes the writers have told us. A dozen times...

Quote :
""People who believe that they're in purgatory or that they're subjects of an experiment are going to start reassessing those theories based on the fact that we are literally showing you the outside world.""

Damon Lindeloff, head writer of Lost New York Times interview published on May 25, 2006

""We were not lying and it is not purgatory""

Damon Lindeloff, head writer of Lost, Official Lost Podcast April 30th, 2007http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Official_Lost_Podcast/April_30%2C_2007

Quote :
"The producer insists the characters on the show are not dead and the island is not a purgatory. This has been said many times in the past, but with the latest revelation it was necessary for the producer to underline that adding: "If we did such a thing after repeatedly stating otherwise, we'd be tarred and feathered!""

I know this, and thats not the point. The point was that they pushed the whole dead/hell thing in the episode. He said they didn't, but they did whether it was as a joke or not.
