Since when can vampires mimic voices like terminators?

So what?!

Plenty of finale-worthy stuff happened. Sookie banished Bill from her house.

BREAK FREE FROM THE MOLD OF COMPLETELY SELF-CONTAINED SEASONS.

Not every show has to have an Ice Truck Killer who the hero defeats in the finale.

I'm guessing like Eric and Russell can fly, maybe Bill has the ability to mimic or change accents/voice (there was him pretending to be French w/ Lorena in S2) which would make him a great con artist...which would be why the Queen chose him to seek out Sookie (aside from him being originally from Bon Temps)

but this is totally a guess as none of this was in the books

people expect WAY too much out of their entertainment...

it's a fucking tv show based on a 2398472389479238 book series about a redneck who hangs out with vampires...

it's not based on shakespeare or a fucking charles dickens novel...

it's just entertaining...that's all

have you guys not noticed that all of alan ball's projects (besides being freaky sexy as opposed to sexy sexy) are about people who (for the most part) are a little more on the white trash/dysfunctional side of things

somebody brought up the reference to a soap opera and thats exactly what this is. you don't expect soap operas to have come very far just because they've been on for 30+ years do you? they don't make sense, they do what they want, get out the popcorn, and shut off your brain for an hour each week - what's so hard about that concept? this isn't Rubicon or Mad Men where you can find deeper meaning if you want to. i think they do a pretty good job of dumbing everything down so its easy to understand for anyone watching and clearly they are happy with the results, so to all of people saying you're going to quit watching lets just see if you show up in next season's threads.

Jesus said he was a Brujo. The wiki article is all about his sect. Under beliefs it mentions the use of dolls and such in their magic.

I for one really enjoyed the lafayette/jesus storyline this season. No homo...

This show is a steaming pile of shit, and that was the worst season finale I've seen in a long time.

First off, it doesn't make any god damn sense, not that this show ever did much, but this was way worse than normal. Fuck this show, I'm out.

1. Apparently all it takes to take down a vampire, any vampire, regardless of how "old" or "powerful" they are, is to pull the old: "Hey look over there!" and then slap on some silver handcuffs.

2. When you really, really want to make an enemy suffer, you put them in concrete where they are in stasis for only 100 years (why only 100 years? I don't know...is this shit supposed to make sense?). It's not like you yourself just got out of said concrete. Or that you kept it a secret that he is there.

3. At the beginning, when Sookie is trying to kill Russell and save Eric, why doesn't she just stake him?

4. Why did Eric need to chain himself to Russell? A pole, brick, anything seems like it would have sufficed. Stupid shit.

5. Who the fuck cares about Sam or Tara anymore? Anyone? Anyone? They fuck around with those characters so much you don't even know them anymore.....they're behaviour, like many others on this show, is random. Except worse.

6. Werewolves? Cool, right? They are trashy rednecks that can run fast and cannot even threaten to beat Sookie in a fight. The vampires are afraid of werewolves on V but routinely trash them even outnumbered 3:1. Oh, and lets throw in a werewolf, human, vampire love triangle...I hear it's a new idea.

7. Sookie: She's always been the most annoying and worst part of the show. She vascillates between I hate you forever and I love you forever so much, she moves between men frequently in the space of a few hours (see Alcide in the bar after she learns saves Eric), and she has a giant gap in her teeth. Annnnoooooyyyyinng.

Fuck you alan ball and fuck you true blood. I'm going to watch As the World Turns, because it makes more sense and evokes more emotional response than this turdfest.

Sookie: Can all vampires fly?
Eric: Can all humans sing?

It's been stated before that vampire abilities are as varied as human talents are.

^^^
1. I think some things effect vampires the same regardless of age. The sun, silver, and the having permission to be in a human's private home seem to work regardless of the age. But the one thing that bothers me about why Sooki feels safe in a house, is wouldn't it be easier to just set the house on fire if you were outside of it and force the person to come to you?

2. I thought the 100 years was more about how long it would take him to starve with no blood while in the concrete and was more of just them making a rough guess.

3. She was just trying to save Eric, figured the sun would kill Russell, he just pissed her off trying to force her to use her powers, and it worked.

4. I think Eric wanted to make sure he died, and to bind him to himself was the only sure way to do it.

5. Agreed, really could care less about Tara. I want to like Sam, but his character/plot has just gotten a little bit boring.

6. Yeah I think Werewolves should be stronger, but they seem to be better than the Werepanthers or whatever, haha. And Bill said an experienced vampire should man-handle a few werewolves, but they could be dangerous for a young vampire(Jessica) or for humans.

7. Yeah Sookie does seem a bit bi-polar in her feelings towards most of the men in the series.

I have only read the first 2 books, and they really are a lot different. Alan Ball really took a ton of liberties with this show in the first 2 seasons, want to read the third book and see what other crazy differences there are.

100 years is roughly how long it would take for concrete to crumble without general maintenance. Concrete in bridges and highways only lasts 25-35 years without reinforcements. I would assume a poured concrete foundation like the one Russell was dumped into would last about 100 years give or take a decade.

That was probably the only non-WTF moment of the episode.

^My point on #1 was that it seems like you can ignore age and everything if you just pull the "look over there" trick and slap some silver on a vamp.

I know there are vampire rules...its just a laughable way to "beat" a vampire, especially one as old and "powerful" as Russell.

I mean, is there that much difference, between surprising a vampire and slapping some silver handcuffs on them, and driving a wooden stake through their heart?

WTF?

^^Russel was highly distracted by being in the sunlight for the first time in 3000 years, his eyes were still adjusting to the brightness when Eric cuffed him. That's the only way Eric could have done it. Earlier in the season Bill tries to stake Russel and nearly gets killed for it.

and then Bill uses the same trick and Eric falls for it, or isn't fast enough to stop it?

Why could Eric do it without gloves, and Bill used gloves?

If thin latex gloves stops silver from hurting vampires, etc, why don't they wear full body suits and clothing that covers their skin more....they'd be immune to silver basically.

This shit just doesnt make any sense, and I understand if you want to like this show, but you're just deluding yourself and trying to convince us that this shit doesn't stink or is well done.

Eric was already resolved to the fact he would die in the sun with Russell...why would gloves to protect him from silver matter when he's already started burning bc sookie's faerie blood was wearing off?

How could Eric use the cuffs without protection, but Bill could not....

Why even use handcuffs...it seems like a silver chain or silver anything works just the same...

Nevermind....needless to say, this shit is inconsistent at best and doesn't make any goddamn sense at worse.

They can touch silver it just burns their skin and weakens them (see bill shutting the door on Lorena)...again, Eric was already burning from sunlight, why bother protecting himself from silver cuffs?

And he did use protection when securing russell with silver chains to the stripper pole. He also still had the chains on him when he threw Russell in the cement bed.

I don't think it's inconsisten, I think you're making this harder than it actually is....

Eric wanting to "sacrifice" himself to kill Russell makes no sense when it is just as effective as handcuffing Russell normally...as Bill did to Eric...or handcuffing him to a pole or anything at all besides himself.

Eric using himself to anchor Russell wasn't any more effective than a pole, since all it took was some to come and knock off the handcuffs (sookie) or to get the keys, as russell wanted.

I can live with this shit not making sense and that it sucks, but it's baffling that you people just let this shit be shoved down your throat and you swallow it.

maybe...JUST MAYBE

eric did things the way he did so he wouldn't actually be guilty of 'killing' russell...

then there would be absolutely no reason for the authority to intervene and unwrap their connection with the russell's death (giving eric permission...without giving eric permission)

that's the most thought i've given to anything in this entire show and it took longer to type than it did to think about

^^that's what i just said

he does it that way then there really isn't even a murder and there is NO way it ever comes back on them...ever...because it wouldn't even have to be investigated by them

and they would have to put on a show of having it investigated...especially after russell's public display

Wouldn't there still be an investigation if a vampire like that goes missing?

And if they found out he just walked into full daylight, wouldn't that trigger some questions?

Really don't want to perpetuate the argument, because I don't really give a crap... but that doesn't really hold up either

I can't believe how many people are bitching about how bad this show is.

Is it "good" like Man Men, or Breaking Bad? Hell no, but it's not supposed to be. It's a show about vampires and werewolves and the crazy shit that happens to them. If you're not able to turn off your brain for an hour and just enjoy the show for what it is, then please, by all means, feel free to go watch something else. At least we won't have to read your incessant bitching next season.

The problem that it hasn't always been 'bad'. The first season was GOOD tv. They have simply fallen off completely and it sucks because they had a good thing going.

Its now a crappy soap opera with laughable inconsistencies and poorer and poorer writing. It wasn't always which is why people complain.

To be fair, most tv series I've seen seem to turn into ridiculous soap operas after a few seasons as writers try to keep the series going. They are hardly ever as good as seasons 1 & 2
