I don't think he can -- how would he be able to leave if him coming back is what brought him back alive in the first place?

he can leave the island and still be alive. just as he could still walk when he got off the island.

yeah, its like saying you can't leave the hospital after they treat you because that is where they fixed you, of course you can

its a stupid question anyways, i don't think Locke (or anyone for that matter) will be leaving the island any time soon, and i especially don't think Locke would want to

I don't think he can leave because i don't think he is 100% human anymore

i believe he is in some way an 'enlightened' being.

^ I agree.. I think it's a little different with his legs -- that's not as serious as bringing someone back to life

Actually, it's nothing like that.

Anyway, I was just wondering if he could metaphysically leave the island if he wanted. Being that he is not alive anymore. I mean, you could argue that he is alive just as he was before, but the show would have me believe he's alive like Christian Shepherd is alive.

In which case, I was guessing that Locke's current state couldn't exist off the island.

Furthermore, I guess I had an off the wall notion that maybe Ben died as a child. I was just curious as to whether some who had been 'rejuvenated' could leave the island.

^that too

"you're just jealous my power is better than yours"

A little bit of lindeloff shining through this episode with all the star wars stuff.

Important question: "What lies in the shadow of the statue?" If they aren't on widmore's team and ben didn't seem to have anything to do with them, who's team are they on?

we saw faraday with dharma in the season premiere...but we didn't know how he got there..now we see he was recruited or something as a scientist....

and the lady last week asked the same question about the statue

^^^ yes and he said they weren't new recruits.

we also don't know when Faraday was at the orchid, it could be in an upcoming episode's timeframe.

It didn't make sense when they showed him 3 years before in the orchid, because none of them were recruits and it was a moderately secret place.

what's there to talk about that wasn't figured out in Season 2 when Jack and Sayid discovered the Swan had a big ass electromagnet encased in 10 ft of concrete?

This was in the lostpedia...it was part of a spin off or a "game" where the story line was that the Dharma Initiative didn't die and was kept alive by a 3rd party. Maybe that third party are the "shadow of the statue" people.
---------------------

Hugh McIntyre of the Hanso Foundation said in an interview as part of The Lost Experience that the DHARMA Initiative's funding was cut in 1987. Thomas Mittelwerk also claimed in the Sri Lanka video, "we all know what happened—the DHARMA Initiative failed." In the Official Lost Podcasts, executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse also make frequent references to DHARMA's fall as a "collapse", explaining that the polar bears escaped from their cages during the collapse, for example.

However, the truth of when the Intiative collapsed or if indeed it did at all is uncertain due to the events of the Purge, which reportedly occurred five years after the date quoted by Hugh McIntyre. Furthermore, in the Sri Lanka Video, it is shown that even in 2006 similar work on the Valenzetti Equation is being conducted, suggesting the project is still active in some new incarnation by Thomas Mittelwerk. It has also been shown that the Swan station received supplies with DHARMA Initiative-branded food and necessities up to at least December 2004, and that Kelvin Inman joined the DHARMA Initiative after the Gulf War in 1991, both indicating that the Initiative did not end its operations in 1987 as McIntyre stated. Operatives of Charles Widmore on the freighter also appear well-informed about the DHARMA Initiative and its stations (including the secret purposes of the Tempest and the Orchid).

In the Dharma Initiative Recruiting Project, unknown benefactors attempt to restart the Initiative but fail due to constrains by the 2008 financial crisis. The "Project" consisted of a series of tests that dealt with different areas of expertise. The tests measured various skills of recruits, and official Volunteer Assessment Dossiers were sent out to recruits on November 18th. The "Project" was unable to continue spending due to the financial crisis, and sold the Dharma Initiative to the T.V. show Lost. Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse started a new website called Dharmaspecialaccess.com that gives recruits exclusive information on upcoming Lost info.

^yes.

Also it was in HD for twc. i watched it that way.

that aside i liked the episode and feel that it tied things up well without posing too many new questions.

3 more airings of the show this season so i suuspect the next two will simply setup for the finale.

miles and faraday probably tell candle and charlotte about whats going down and their fathers send them away hastily.

some of them seemed not to know who ben was when he was on the island with them, but then again, i'm sure that could have been his intent.

whomever it was they seemed to know that sayid needed to come to the island to make everything happen. perhaps ben actually does remember them all being on the island and in dharma and that is how he knew they all needed come back.

Did anyone else notice what was on the blackboard in the classroom that Jack was cleaning before Roger Workman came in? A bunch of hieroglyphics. And information about different eras of Egyptian history.

Also, it was kinda cool to see why the hatch to the Swan had the numbers on it.

yeah thats the only thing that makes sense.

They aren't widmore's they aren't ben's, they aren't others, must be DI or some other party that they just decided to show for the first time.

Things i'm curious about that seem to be overlooked:

If that bomb was truly inside the swan then how did that get into the DI's possession? Was solving the issue of the nuke, part of the truce?
What was the military doing there in the first place?
When are they going to reveal that walt is in fact jacob just as we all expected
Why does Horace have the smoke monster shit in a secret closet in his secret closet?

1954 or whatever Richard & the others had the nuke.
1973 the DI was building the swan and the show so far has lead us to believe that the nuke was encased in concretet there.
