I am ABC but I think we the situation is dire and the ACC desperately needs wins over the SEC. Right now every team including NC State will always be considered a joke until the ACC gets some wins of the SEC for a few years.

I know we are not going to be contenders this year, but 2 or 3 years from now if we happen to have an amazing season, people around the country will think back to the last few years of games like this to determine if we are a joke or not.

Even if we win all of the tossups, they win the series. IF somehow, UNC pulled off a win tonight, that would be huge for the ACC and give them a good chance to win the series and argue recovery on a national level. If you are a fan of NCSTATE, you want these games.

Its like if UNC plays against al qaeda we come together against a greater threat. UNC vs any other conference is ABC. This is a dire situation. All of our programs are at stake.

I'm not expecting success before 2015. Thats why I want to work on getting the conference image up these next few years. That means winning as many SEC games as possible.

Of course if we are the worst team in the nation for the next 2 years, my outlook would change and i would call for his head but that would be extreme.

You don't have to wait 4-5 years before firing a bad coach if he is terrid but I already know dorean is at least a decent coach. I'm pretty sure he's a good coach.

Its not like TOB and Gottfried where we knew they were mediocre long before they even got here then they showed up and continued to be mediocre. Its not like something was going to magically change their coaching abilities 3 or 4 or 5 years in.

I see Earl's logic here with his ACC arguments, but what he is failing to recognize this the impact to State's program that a UNC win tonight would do. State and UNC go head to head as much as anyone in recruiting. UNC beating a legit SEC team on national TV to start the season gives Fedora a ton of fire power to out-recruit State. Also ABC.
