Earl would be proud that I'm not even mad about UNC winning today, as well as Wake beating Notre Dame. We're now tied in the standings with, and have the tiebreaker over, both Syracuse and Notre Dame.

Clemson is also 9-9 at the moment, we split with them. I think that tiebreaker goes to us currently since we have the best record vs the other 9-9 teams?

In a >2 team tie, the first tiebreaker is winning percentage against the other teams in the tie. Then it goes to winning percentage vs #1 on down. Once the tie is down to 2 teams it reverts to normal rules of head to head and then w% against top team.

Yeah because of the unbalanced schedule tiebreakers are weird and dumb. Like let's say two teams are tied and split regular season games, one team is 2-0 against the top team and 2-0 against the second place team but 0-1 against the 3rd place team. The other team is 1-0, 1-0 and 1-1. In this scenario the 2nd team wins the tiebreaker, which just seems wrong. Obviously this is a highly improbable scenario, but it could happen.

I don't feel like looking up all the records, but as soon as one team has broken the tie (i.e ND in this case), then all the other teams are regrouped without that team and ranked on winning percentage against the new group.

So basically each time a team wins the tiebreaker, everything resets for the rest of the teams (a 4 way tie becomes a 3 way tie) and the process starts over at step 1.

GT accepting post season ban this year, so we're in the tie breaker driver seat for most scenarios. Clemson beats us out in two way tie or three way with Cuse, assuming fsu stays above Duke. If Duke jumps fsu, I think we win all tiebreakers.

I mean that depends on if they keep GT in the standings for seeding purposes. Seeding it as a 15 team tournament then just bumping everyone below GT up a slot makes just as much sense as ignoring them, maybe more.

Not trying to be an asshole/contrary, I'm just not sure what the procedures are when a team is disqualified from postseason play and is involved in ties in the standings.
