Interview/Email Scenario: A company sent me an email at the beginning of last week at around noon after I applied on their website the previous Thursday saying essentially "hey got your resume let us know when you're available for a phone interview if you're interested". I email back within the hour saying yes, I'm interested, here's my schedule (basically empty during the day).
So a few days go by, I haven't heard from them... I sent an email this weekend saying "btw haven't heard from you still interested here's my this week availability" and got an Out of the Office email, saying the person was gone the latter part of last week and would respond Monday, and I've still yet to hear anything.

I guess my impression was that if you ask someone for a phone interview, you're serious about it, and if you're going to be out of the office later that week ask for availability tomorrow or next week... I don't mean to sound ungrateful, just a bit annoyed.
Or is it just that I've only had really good luck with companies responding pretty quickly before now?

^It's customary for people in that position to do whatever they want. This particular place and/or person sounds maybe a little inconsiderate or disorganized, but there's nothing you can do about it. So no worries. Just be breezy!

Speaking of weekends, mine may have had some sort of unfortunate ending if I stuck around long enough. Not sure what would have happened but could have been drugged or raped was in the back of my mine.

Has taught me not to trust people so much. I met a girl about a year ago in the lady’s locker room at the gym. She begin a conversation with me, randomly asked about my shoes. And from there, after her workout, she asked for my number. I kind of have the feeling she was new in town and wanted to make some new friends. That was fine. We’ve never really hung out until this summer. But texting back and forth few times a month and she would try to do something with me, I would get lazy or had other plans. Never really tried to integrate her with my “old’ friends. I reached out to her earlier last week about doing something for her birthday to be nice. Thurs/Fri came around she was still undecided. You know how girls are. So I just made a suggestion, cause I just wanted a chill night anyway I was tired from work; I suggested dinner.

To make a long story short, since it was her birthday, I just went along with it, fine. She wanted to go to a bar district that I hated it- it’s a fucking meat market. I show up and it was her and 3 dudes. And then her sister came later. I’m thinking does this chick not have any female friends? So we did the bar hopping thing, and I just wasn’t feeling it the whole night. One of the guys that were with us was a fucking pig. Just raping girls with his eyes and at one point snapping a picture of a girl’s ass. And then I overhead something about ecstasy with the other two guys. And at this point I was like fuck this. I was looking for the right opportunity to just bail. She went to the rest room and the guys were outside smoking, so I told her sister to tell her I was tired and wanted to leave. I guess she came back from the restroom and text bombed me to come back. I was already on the road. I get home and I turned my sound off on my cell so I can actually sleep. At around 5 AM Saturday, I get some missed calls and a text….” Please pick up I was attacked by my friend.”

It was a former co-worker who disappeared off the face of the planet after leaving. It's entirely possible she deleted her page, but it was the last way she kept in touch with me since she had stopped texting/calling. Possibly an accident, but probably not since she's not keeping in touch any other way. Sad.

Does the USPS not update its tracking info along the way at all? I received a notice yesterday that something shipped with estimated delivery time of 1-3 days. All it says is that they received an electronic notification and no more info. Not sure if it's one of those "we printed the shipping label, so technically it counts as shipped" things and they haven't actually mailed it yet. But I feel like I can't leave.
