I found some very very old (possible first edition) Hardy Boys books at a book fair last night

I bought all the books they had. Anybody know a good place to go get these checked out at? I want to get them appraised

Even first editions of early Hardy Boys aren't particularly valuable. If they have dust jackets, you might be looking at $30-50 for a really good example, but even that's high.

Reading some of the coverage of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington today:

http://www.wral.com/civil-rights-includes-gays-50-years-after-march/12801092/

Quote :
"Civil rights includes gays 50 years after march

WASHINGTON — Months before Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" declaration galvanized a quarter-million people at the 1963 March on Washington, Bayard Rustin was planning all the essential details to keep the crowd orderly and engaged.

Rustin, who died in 1987, is sometimes forgotten in civil rights history. As a Quaker and pacifist, he was often an outcast. Perhaps most notably, he was gay in an era when same-sex relations were widely reviled in American society. He served as chief strategist for King's march"

Quote :
""And as a daughter and a beneficiary, I am now the burden-bearer of this generation's civil rights movement."

That burden, she said, includes equal rights for gays and fights against poverty and gun violence.

Attorney General Eric Holder credited King's famous words for providing a foundation for the progress of the civil rights movement.

"Our focus has broadened to include the cause of women, of Latinos, of Asian-Americans, of lesbians, of gays, of people with disabilities and of countless others across this great country who still yearn for equality, opportunity and fair treatment," he said."

Gays would be taken more seriously if they thought about something other then being gay.

so i adopted another chihuahua, $100 from some hippy chick on craigslist. he is the smallest dog i have ever seen, way too yappy and excited when i get home from work but batman (my other chihuahua) is starting to warm up to him and i think since he is still young i can calm him down.

here is a video of them playing

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10101401250484709&set=vb.11817184&type=2&theater

anyway i was just curious since he is so small, what the definition of a "teacup" chihuahua is...and i ran across this website. $115,000 for a puppy....and these people are serious.

Cute pup!

Possible names
Argos - Odysseus' dog
Petey - The dog from the Little Rascals
Gelert - The dog who's master (a king or some other royalty) came home and saw it covered with blood and went to look for his baby son and didn't find him in his crib. It was turned over and there was more blood in the nursery. The owner was so upset he drew his sword and killed the dog. The dog's drying bark was answered by the son's cry. He found his son under the cradle along with a dead wolf who had tried to snatch the baby. Was the basis for the Lady and Tramp movie with the baby and rat.

and this might be completely wrong, but Wheely Willy

Food poisoning for the first time yesterday...
Horrendously unpleasant.
The only thing I had that was different from everyone else later in the evening was when we went to Pearl (Chinese place off Gorman/Avent Ferry)... I had the tofu + broccoli dish, and it was delicious, but resulted in a very painful yesterday after Saturday night. Has anyone had the same issue?
