I just watched a fascinating exchange in the waiting room at the outpatient rehab. Teenage girl hugging a woman giggling crying about how glad she was to see her. Man gives woman a bag and they chat. Girl has obvious neurological problems including muscle control issues. I think the man and woman are mom and dad. But they're divorced and dad has custody. Man seemed to handle the girl better than woman. If I have the relationship correct, I wonder why dad has custody. I see people week after week while my son has speech and I entertain myself by trying to figure the different people and things going on.

I just figured out how my sister feels about my situation. She is planning a week long vacation at the end of March and is asking our whole family to go with her. My due date is March 24th.

I just put it together. I haven't had a chance. I heard her talking to my mom this weekend. I have sent my mom an email asking the details so I can have all the facts before I bring it up and potentially make a fool of myself. I do want my mom there, my dad's side I guess I could live without and that includes my sister but I guess my hormones are all "why won't you love me?!" Dad's side of the family is notoriously selfish, and when they split I lived with mom and sister lived with dad. They continuously forget to invite me to things and plan them when they know I'm working. I'm used to it, but this is a bigger deal than a birthday or family dinner.

Lol. No I won't. Not everyone is Catherine. I should have two hours easy to drive. Your doctor may not even have you come into the hospital until your labor is well underway. I know some women who spend half the day at home before going to the hospital because it's just more comfortable to labor at home.

They tell you all about it in birthing class!

I was so annoyed because the 5 year old kept calling me after I put her to bed. I finally gave in and checked to see what she wanted. She said, "I just wanted to tell you that I have missed you since you left." (I stopped working with these kids full time in august.) Aww.

Is having your mom in the delivery room a normal expectation?

Because that's about the worst thing I could think of. So if it's the norm I need to start preparing myself for that battle.

I think I'll have my Mom in the delivery room. She's an RN though, so that kind of changes things I guess. Also, Peter will probably be of no help except telling me that I need to suck it up.
