if I am meeting you for the first time and you are a guy, then you get a firm, tight (not super hand crushing though) handshake that last for approximately 2-3 up/downs

a female gets more of a light and gentle handshake lasting approximately the same time (I'm not trying to enforce any sort of dominance over a female with a handshake...)
