I know! I had to stop myself from storming out or worse shouting my opinions at them all weekend. I was appalled the entire time the TV was on. And I kept my mouth shut as they "explained" all the problems we had in our government and how the nation was going to hell in a hand basket. And they kept telling me I needed I watch more news and read the paper so I knew what was going on in the world while all they knew about what was going on in the world was reported by sensationalist Republican news casters.

No. I sighed and tried to block it all out. I'm going to be the weird hippie mom on that side of the family. I can already see it. I got all sorts of advice and tips this weekend that went completely against what I've been told by my doctor and read in my book.

12 Years a Slave was excellent. However, there was a black guy sitting behind me that really soured the experience. He was providing all kinds of commentary during the movie. Things such as shouting "I hope all you white folks are feeling real uncomfortable right now!" and "beat that cracker @ss" and "now you know what we've been through" as if he was just released from a plantation's shackles that morning.

To top it off, he was texting frequently (with an annoying 3-4 second ringtone every time he received a text), and then left 3/4 of the way through, stomping out saying "I can't believe you all can just sit through this."

Dollars to donuts he asked for a refund on the way out.

I think my friend from hs has joined a cult. It seems she is worried that the ison comet is going to cause electromagnetic interference causing the power grid to fail. This giving our government some time to do something else conspiracy related.

They're pretty common all along the eastern seaboard, from what I've found. Closer to the coast gets progressively more common.

I know a lot of people that do a bonfire/oyster roast and make a night out of it. Those are the best.

Oysters are harvested/eaten around here in the fall/winter months (months with R!), and thanksgiving is often the first time groups and families and friends get together in the fall/winter. So they have oyster roasts!

You probably already know this, but try a humidifier in your bedroom and putting Vaseline on a Qtip and rubbing it inside your nose. And saline spray, but I felt Vaseline did a better job.

My nose always bled in the shower when I was pregnant.
