Maybe we expected more from this show because it is on HBO and HBO doesn't usually produce horribly written, inconcistent soap opera trash.

I mean I pay extra for this shit? It's definitely one of the worst written HBO shows in a long time....even the unsuccessful ones have good acting, good writing, or something to show. This show's best thing is the tits and ass, and even then it's usually drenched in blood or accompanied by a ridiculous musical theme that makes me want to claw my eyes out.

My wife watched the first few seasons without me and I just started watching with her halfway through this past season. They must have toned it down a lot because I didn't really see much of the t&a and sex scenes. Actually, most of the romantic scenes I even remember seeing were the gay dudes

I know I'm late to the party but my wife and I were looking at TV shows on netflix to start watching and I saw this. Really the only thing we know about it is the obvious: vampires.

It isn't on the "instant" yet but I can get the DVDs in the mail. Is it worth putting the DVDs at the top of my queue to start watching? I know the folks in here may be biased since it is the thread for the show...but any other details about the series you can provide would be great.

i hope this season has less Tara (same shit over and over) and more Jessica (very underutilized last season and a lot of potential).

oh, and hopefully they either make the werewolves more bad ass or stop talking about how bad ass they are and what not considering they get dominated so easily by the vampires.

WTF was that bullshit teaser after A Game Of Thrones last night? That was... embarrassing. Trolls disguised as faeries throwing energy balls at one another??? I question whether I want to bother watching this season or not. That definitely wasn't in the books. I think HBO is taking its creative liberties too far on this one.
