Just gave a listen to A Forest Of Stars's new album, Opportunistic Thieves of Spring. Definitely enjoyed it, but I don't know if it's as good as The Corpse of Rebirth; maybe it will grow on me as I listen to it more.

not metal/hardcore related...but i thought some here might be interested. Further Seems Forever just re-upped their domain name with a logo splash page instead of just being dead:

http://furtherseemsforever.com/

reunion tour? As long as it is not the 3rd vocalist Jon Bunch or whatever. That dude ruined it for me. I loved the other 2 LPs and the 3rd one I was done with after a few listens.

They need to do a tour with both jason and chris and have them switch off and do their own songs

Love the headbanging going on in the front. So metal. I miss the NC metal scene although I don't usually listen to bands this metal and stick more to the hardcore genre.

I lost my good Kill Whitney Dead CD and I've been having to listen to my crappy one and some bright pink Tribunal records comp that they were giving away when they played with Called To Arms at the Brewery for Halloween a few years back.

^^ yeah not very many people were still around at that hour on a sunday night but those kids were into it

^ we played that show IIRC...that was the night I decided Matt Rudzinski is a complete cunt. The Demonstration are still cool in my book, however

^ I think you did, but I got there late and missed you guys. I don't remember him being a cunt, but I don't remember much of that night. Liquor pre-game + beer + "Demon Drop" shots at the bar (OJ & Everclear iirc) kinda put things in a blur.

What I do remember is a bunch of "almost fights" happening and Matt would stop the whole damn show and preach about non-violence. Then they'd go into a song about how awesome violence is which really kinda blew my mind at the time. It became an inside joke with my crew for a long time. I mean, I get what the guy was saying, but it was still kinda funny.

man those demon drops have put me in a world of hurt on more than one occasion, I know where you're coming from. Here's the story on Matt's rampant cuntism though:

We accepted the show as a local opener under the pretense we'd get paid. After the show I'm walking around looking for Matt (he was personally handling the money that show) so we can get our cut, surely small but anything helps. Apparently he had just dipped quietly and dicked one of the other bands too. Tom threw us some cash out of his pocket because he's awesome like that and apparently Matt has a history of doing this. What Matt didn't know, however, is that a couple of the guys in The Demonstration (the actual live KillWhitneyDead band) are good friends of mine and I knew exactly where they had gone. So I show up at my buddy's house fit to be tied and my friend knew why...but he took me aside and said something along the lines of "dude I know it's fucked up and I want you to get paid but please don't start anything, this dude's my boss." Though I respected that I still confronted a very nervous Matt while his hilariously small pitninja cronies surrounded me, as if anything went down I couldn't destroy all of them. After some mild threats I squeezed a 20-spot out of him and left satisfied with a moral victory.

From what I've heard from people though he's just a sheisty kinda guy that would stab his sister in the back if it made him a buck

^^ man, seems like that was forever ago now. And without saying much, I can remember that fiasco now too. Was a packed show and, while we did get paid fortunately at the end. Zach gave me the money and apologized for how little it was. I remember kinda looking at the amount thinking "I can tell Tom isn't handling the money tonight..." because it was probably half of what he would have given us.

Stoked for the Codeseven reunion show Friday. I was hoping so much that hopesfall would do a reunion show at this event as well...pretty much would have been perfect and perfect timing.

Alright, if I remember correctly, the Codeseven set last night was:

5 songs from Dancing Echoes/Dead Sounds
5 songs from The Rescue
4 songs from Division of Labor
2 songs from A Sense of Coalition

Definitely the best set I have ever seen them play. They played every single song I wanted to hear from their entire catalog including super old stuff and their "Boys of Summer" cover they recorded in 1998 that I have never seen them play live before.

The crowd was crazy as far as who was there though. Brought me back to the early 2000s with all the people I saw there. Tons of people I used to see at shows all the time that I haven't seen in years. But what stood out the most was the amount of band members in the crowd last night. There was at least one member in attendance from all of the following bands:

Between the Buried and Me
Glass Casket
Beloved
Hopesfall
He Is Legend
Classic Case
Telescreen
Giant/Brave Young
Filter
House of Fools
Advent
To Speak of Wolves
Boxbomb
Aria
Deathblow

Obviously a ton more smaller/more local bands were represented as well but those were the ones that stood out to me.

i've somehow never seen codeseven...i'm trying to remember all the triad shows from years ago, but cannot recall ever seeing them. i am dying to see telescreen, though.

and i don't know how many are interested, but the new devil wears prada ep is pretty freaking good

can't believe Thursday's "Full Collapse" came out 10 years ago this coming spring

They are playing it straight through Dec 30th in their home state...really wish I could go. Rumors of them doing some more of those shows though spring 2011 as "anniversary" shows though so I will certainly have to try and attend if any are remotely close to me. I remember buying that album the day it came out.

10 year anniversary tour dates for Thursday's Full Collapse to be announced soon. Will be in January and February.

The last time I saw them live was probably 2003 but if there are any dates remotely close to me I will go.
